Beach Mahjong is a Mahjong Solitaire game with a summer beach vacation theme. Select pairs of identical free tiles to clear them from the stack. Clear the entire stack before the timer expires to beat each level.

How to Play Beach Mahjong

Select by left clicking with your mouse or tapping on the touchscreen with your fingers. On the welcome screen, select Play on the upper right side to begin.

To clear a pair of tiles, select one free tile, then select another identical one elsewhere on the stack. Non-free tiles are grayed out.

Basic Gameplay Advice

Clear the stack of beach-themed Mahjong tiles by selecting pairs of free identical tiles. Free tiles have no tile above them and no adjacent tile on at least one horizontal side. Remove the entire stack before the timer expires. Should you run out of time, you will fail the level. You have the option to either replay the level or quit. If the last pair of tiles are on top of one another, the game considers it a win.

The game has 12 levels, which are unlocked sequentially. You cannot replay any of the levels you’ve previously beaten. Each time you reload the game, you can either start from the beginning or resume from the last level you’ve unlocked. Your web browser automatically saves your level progress.

The first level in the game has 7 minutes on the timer. Later levels have shorter time spans.

Your score is cumulative across every level you play. Each pair of tiles you clear is worth 95 points. You receive an extra 30 points for every second left on the timer. You can save your final score to the leaderboard either by finishing the game or by quitting after failing a level. See the leaderboard by selecting High Scores on the welcome screen

The game provides you with 2 assistance options, which can be accessed from two buttons near the center right edge of the screen. Although you can use these an unlimited number of times, they will cost you points.

• Select the question mark button to get a hint. Hints highlight any random valid pair of tiles anywhere on the stack. Each hint costs 100 points.
• Select the arrow button to manually shuffle the stack. This will rearrange every tile onscreen. Manual shuffles cost 500 points.

The game will also shuffle the stack automatically with no point penalty if you run out of valid pairs.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

Work toward increasing the number of pairs you may have. Start by removing tiles from the edges and uncover more and more of the stack as you go along.

If you must use assistance, use a hint. Manual shuffles have a hefty point penalty and their benefits are available for free once you’ve run out of options. Unless you’re running out of time, it’s usually better to rely on the automatic shuffle.
