High Tea Solitaire Game Review
High Tea Solitaire Game Background
High Tea Solitaire is timed turn-1 variation of Klondike Solitaire.
This game was developed by Zygomatic.
How to Play High Tea Solitaire
Press the green and white PLAY button in the lower left of the welcome screen to start the game.
Use your mouse to select cards and drag them to move them around the tableau. Tap on the reserve stack to shuffle through the remaining cards in the reserves.
Basic Gameplay Advice
This is a variation of Klondike Solitaire featuring 10 timed stages. The first stage gives you 6 minutes to complete it, with subsequent stages giving you 30 seconds less for each level you make through the game.
This is a single deck game. Build down while alternating colors on the tableau, and build foundations in ascending order by suit, starting with the aces. Flip through the reserves one card at a time to look for cards needed to make plays.
Any card or any run of cards may be moved to an open column on the tableau.
Each card placed on the foundations is worth 10 points, and each card played from the reserves is worth 10 points. Each second you have remaining when the level is completed is worth 30 bonus points.
If you play until time runs out you can choose to retry the current level or to end the game.
Navigation
The left rail of the screen has a button for full screen mode, shows what level you are on, lists your game score, shows how much time you have to beat the current level, and how many possible moves remain. The bottom portion of the left column has buttons to pause the game, control game sounds, and control game music.
Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy
Shuffling through the reserves does not cost you points and you are allowed to do so an unlimited number of times.
The game has an autoplay feature, so as soon as all cards on the tableau are face up you can repeatedly shuffle through the reserves and let the autoplay feature move cards to the foundations. Most of your level score is based upon speed, so having the autoplay feature make rapid work of the deck is a way to maximize your score.
Educational Aspects
This is a simple card game which can help players with their organizational skills.
Player Age Recommendations
This game is a relaxing introduction to Solitaire card games which should be fun for players of all ages. People who have not played Solitaire before may need the basics explained to them, or can click on the HELP button on the welcome screen for instructions.
