How to Play Snake Challenge

To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the screen with your fingers. On the welcome screen select the play button at the center to begin.

The snake moves by itself. To change the direction the snake travels, press the arrow keys on your keyboard or tap and swipe in the desired direction. Bring the snake to the food to earn points.

Basic Gameplay Advice

Your basic goal is to keep the snake fed for as long as possible. The snake consumes fruit to get bigger. Each time you bring the snake to the fruit, you earn 10 points. Your web browser automatically saves your best score. You can compare your latest and best scores on the game over screen.

The game has two speed settings. You can change the speed of the game by selecting the speed button near the top right corner of the game screen.

To survive, the snake must touch neither its own body or any of the walls. Hit any of these, and it’s game over. The game offers infinite retries. Select the retry button on the bottom center left of the welcome screen to keep playing. Otherwise, select the home button to quit.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

Unless you really want a challenge, we recommend playing this game at 1x speed.

The game has a grid, which will enable you to estimate when you should move. Although you can keep turning around to get to the food in the early game, as you get longer, you should start moving up and down to conserve space. Likewise, leave the outer edge spaces alone to give yourself room to turn once you reach the other side of the screen.

There is an upper limit to how long you can play this game. Only skilled players can reach the point where you run out of space to play.
