Candy Era Game Background

Candy Era is a match-3 tile breaking game. Select groups of 3 or more identical candy tiles to remove them from the screen. Beat each level by collecting the target candies within the time limit.

How to Play Candy Era

Select by left clicking with your mouse or tapping on the touchscreen with your fingers. On the welcome screen, select Play on the lower left side to open the level selection screen. Select an unlocked level’s icon to begin.

Select groups of 3 or more identical tiles on the grid to remove them. Select any powered up tile to activate it.

Basic Gameplay Advice

Basic Rules

Clear the target number of tiles shown on the left edge of the screen. You can clear tiles either by selecting groups of 3 or more identically colored tiles or by selecting power up tiles.

Frozen tiles appear in some levels. They stop the fall of the clearing tiles next to them will help remove them.

Power up tiles charge as you clear them. These can clear either one row (horizontal or vertical) or both at once. The color and direction of the available power ups are shown on the right edge of the game screen. You can only activate one power up tile at any given move.

The game automatically shuffles the tiles when you run out of valid possible moves.

Levels

The game has 40 levels, which are unlocked sequentially. You can replay any of the levels you’ve previously beaten by selecting their icon on the level selection screen. Your web browser automatically saves your level progress.

Each level has its own high score and star rating. We recommend replaying levels if you want to improve both. Your high score and rating for that level will only change if you managed to beat your previous record.

Meet the level’s quota within the number of moves provided. If you run out of moves, you fail the level. From there, you can restart the level or choose to quit. Quitting will clear your game progress but also give you the option to save your score to the leaderboard.

Scoring & Ratings

You have two scores: a level score and a cumulative score. Your level scores can change each time you beat your previous score in a level. Your score is based on the number of tiles you clear. You also receive bonus points based on the number of The game does not show you how many points you’ve earned directly; you find out your total score upon seeing it marked at the level’s icon on the level selection screen.

You also receive a star rating based on the number points you earn. The higher your score, the higher your star rating will be.

You can save your score on the leaderboard once you quit or finish every level. Select High Scores on the welcome screen to view the leaderboard’s entries.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

Ultimately, your score is heavily dependent on the number of moves it takes to finish the level. The key to clearing the level quickly is by using the right power up tiles at the right time. The power up tiles are generated each time you clear a set of tiles of the target color. Make sure to keep generating them in regular intervals to ensure a steady supply. Likewise, activate the right tiles to ensure as many of the target tiles are destroyed as possible.
