Bubble Pop Adventures Game Review

Bubble Pop Adventures Game Background

Bubble Pop Adventures is a cute bubble shooter game where your goal is to knock off all of the bubbles with mushrooms trapped in them.

You have a limited amount of ammo to free all the mushrooms. As you advance through the game many unique bubble types are added to the playing field.

How to Play Bubble Pop Adventures

Press the pink and cream colored play button in the bottom center of the welcome screen to bring up the level select screen.

Move your mouse to aim and press the left click button to throw a bubble at the stack. Add bubbles to sets to create 3 or more adjacent identical bubbles to knock them off of the stack.

A tree stump in the lower left contains the next up bubble. You can tap on the tree stump to swap the current bubble and the next bubble.

Basic Gameplay Advice

Aiming

You can aim your shots directly at the stack, or use the dotted aiming tool to ricochet your shots off the walls.

If the bubble you are aiming does not have an easy spot to play it consider switching it with the next up bubble. If both bubbles do not have a good play spot consider placing it out of the way in a position that does not block your other shots and can easy fall away by making sets above it.

Levels

This game features 23 levels and an endless mode. The endless mode is unlocked after beating all 23 stages. Levels are not timed, but you are given a limited number of bubbles to clear the stage.

The goal of each stage is to knock all of the mushrooms trapped in bubbles off of the stack before you run out of bubbles.

Each stage has a unique design layout and a bubble limit. You score points for each bubble knocked off the stack, with larger bonuses for big clear outs. At the end of each stage you also earn 10 points for each bubble you have remaining in ammo. Your level score then determines your star rating on that stage.

Special Bubbles

As you advance through the game some special bubble types are added.

  • Minus bubbles: hitting sets that include these cause you to lose 3 of your remaining bubbles from your ammo. Knocking them off indirectly by knocking off different colored bubbles that connect them to the stack does not cause you to lose ammo.
  • Wood: you can not knock them off directly, but have to knock off the surrounding bubbles connecting them to the stack to get them to fall as well.
  • Clear bubbles: they turn the color of an adjacent bubble which was popped while sitting next to them.
  • Plus bubbles: hitting sets that include these cause you to gain 3 remaining bubbles in your ammo. Knocking them off indirectly by knocking off different colored bubbles that connect them to the stack does not cause you to gain ammo.
  • Thunder bubbles: hitting one of these with any bubble causes the entire row the thunder bubble is on to be destroyed, and any bubble below that line to fall off the stack.
  • Skull bubbles: if you hit any of them you automatically lose the level.
  • Star bubbles: when you hit a star bubble it automatically destroys all other bubbles of the same color you used to hit the star bubble.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

Most stages are quite easy, particularly if you take advantage of the special bubble types. If you see a thunder bubble try to work the area around it to remove it rather than working the other side of the stack.

The final stage is exceptionally hard. There are many skull bubbles, and when you shoot near them it is easy for the bubbles to accidentally bump into them, so it is best to aim away from them whenever possible, and when you must hit near them try to hit the far side of adjacent bubbles.

Educational Aspects

This game can help kids work on developing their patience and problem solving skills.

Player Age Recommendations

This game is fun for all ages. Almost anybody can beat the first half of the stages. Experienced bubble shooter game players should be able to complete the game without losing more than once or twice on the first 22 stages, then playing the final stage a half-dozen times or so until they beat it.
