Basic Gameplay Advice
Move the fish around and steer them toward pellets and smaller fish to increase their size, indicated by the number above them. Avoid the oncoming larger fish, jellyfish, and sea mines. Touching any of these is an instant game over.
Your goal is to increase your fish’s size for as long as you can. As you grow bigger, you also transform into other species of fish.
You earn points depending on the number of fish and pellets you consume. Your web browser automatically saves your best score. Your best score appears above the start button at the center of the welcome screen.
Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy
A lot of your game will be spent running away from things bigger than you. The only way to avoid big fish is to become a big fish yourself, and you have no such luck with jellyfish or mines. Seek out clearer areas and only pursue other fish when they wander in. Anglerfish appear as you progress deep into the game. Change your route so they run into a mine trying to get to you.
Sometimes, the best way to avoid oncoming large fish is to sink or float up. Allow yourself to drift vertically rather than try to outrun the big fish. Unless more big fish are approaching from below, it’s usually one of the better dodging strategies.
Educational Aspects
This game tests a player’s reaction time and judgment skills. Players must choose which fish to consume based on their fish’s current strength.
