Transport Mahjong Game Background

Transport Mahjong puts a slight twist to the mahjong solitaire formula. The rules remain largely the same; pair matching tiles (called “stones”) together until the entire stack is gone. The catch is that instead of identical stones, you must pair stones that form a complete vehicle.

How to Play Transport Mahjong

To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the touchscreen with your fingers. On the welcome screen, select Play to begin.

Basic Gameplay Advice

Basic Rules

Select a group of stones to clear them from the stack. Unlike most mahjong connect games, the stones you match aren’t identical; they are, however, related, as they form a complete vehicle when matched. Most vehicles form from 2 stones, though a few such as rockets are formed from 3. The stones can either match up horizontally or, in the case of the rockets, vertically.

Only open stones can be selected and matched. An open stone is one with at least one horizontal side free and no stone above it. Open stones can be distinguished by their more vibrant background compared with closed stones.

Clear all the stones as quickly as you can. Although the game is untimed, you receive a score bonus for finishing fast.

Scoring

You earn 100 points for every successful match you make. In addition, you also earn a time bonus based on how quickly you solved each puzzle. The rubric for the time bonus is not shown, but it can range between 0 to a few hundred points.

Your score is cumulative across every level you play.

Levels

The game has 100 levels, which are unlocked sequentially. Your web browser automatically saves your level progress. Each time you reload the game, you begin at the latest level you’ve unlocked. You cannot replay previous levels unless you clear your game data. You can do this by selecting the information button on the bottom right corner of the welcome screen, then select Reset Game on the information window.

Assistance

You have two help options in this game, which you can access by selecting their respective buttons on the lower right side of the screen. The shuffle option, represented by a reset button, changes the orientation of every orange

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

One thing to remember about this game is that each matching set of stones forms a full vehicle. Use this logic to guide you to match every stone in the game. At times, it can be somewhat difficult to make out which stones connect to one another to form a vehicle. Pay attention to the appearance and background of each stone to help you determine which other stones it matches with.

If multiple open stones match, you can choose any of the component stones to form the vehicle as long as you don’t select any duplicates. Likewise, if you’re having trouble discerning vehicles, try other, more familiar stones and get back to them later.
