Basic Gameplay Advice
The player character is Marie, a young woman whose grandmother, Lucy, has once again gained ownership of an old family mansion. Marie is shocked to find her family had once been wealthy, and her grandmother had suddenly become secretive and cryptic when talking about the history behind the mansion. She goes to investigate, calling on her best friend Chad and an old family acquaintance Joseph to assist her.
Cutscenes appear before and after each search session. Clues are also analyzed in the form of a cutscene. Most cutscenes play out only once. If you’ve already played the game before or otherwise don’t want to bother with the lore, you can select the skip button on the bottom left side of the cutscene screen. If you’re following the story along, we recommend letting the cutscenes play out; select the next button on the bottom right side of the cutscene screen to keep watching. Once a cutscene is finished, you cannot replay it.
Select the objects listed on the bottom row to find them. Select 3 sets of 3 objects to unlock the clue, then select the clue among the objects onscreen to find it. Be sure to select the correct object; selecting incorrectly will cost you a life. Lose all your lives and you fail the level.
Once you find the clue, the level is finished. Finishing a level rewards you with some cash and extra lives. To complete a level, you must play a total of 4 times.
You earn points each time you finish a level. The points you earn for each object you find depends on how fast you select the object. The base score you get for finding an object is 200 and decreases the longer it takes for you to find an object. Finding an object within seconds of the game starting can net you up to 198 points. The score timer resets each time you find an object.
Clues take 5 minutes to decipher. Once Joseph and Chad have finished analyzing the clues, they will reveal a story related to the clue that adds another layer to the story behind the mansion and the family that lived in it. Unlike regular cutscenes, you can replay clues. Keep track of your clues on the clue screen, which be accessed by selecting the clue button on the bottom center right of the welcome screen.
Each level costs a number of bus tickets to play. You can buy bus tickets with the cash you’ve earned from each level by going to the shop screen, which you can access by selecting the shop button on the bottom center left of the welcome screen.

Conclusion (Warning: Spoilers)
Grandma Lucy chose to abandon the mansion due to several factors, some of which can be inferred directly from the clues. The story that can be pieced together is as follows:
Lucy’s father (Marie’s great grandfather) was involved in a secret society that, on the surface, mainly talked about the study and cultivation of rare plants. In truth, the society was a front for fraud, and Lucy’s father was framed for it. An affair involving Lucy’s uncle and a woman from a rival family further escalated the feud. Lucy’s generation fared no better than her father’s. Her brother disappeared in the wake of a scandal. Lucy herself was caught in a love triangle between her and her sister Eleanor, who she had once been close to. The resulting generational trauma of each of these scandals led to many painful memories, forcing Lucy and her husband to abandon the house altogether.
The game is open-ended and leaves a lot of unsolved threads. What became of the love triangle between Lucy, her husband, and Eleanor? Was Lucy really the one her husband truly loved? What was the fate of Charles after his disappearance?
