Metal Merge Game Review
Metal Merge Game Background
Metal Merge is an idle merging game inspired by Suika Game and others like it. Unlike those games, however, this one doesn’t involve anything edible. Drop nuts, bolts, and washers down the shaft and merge identical ones together to form bigger ones. Keep merging these metal components until you form the biggest component.
EyeQStudio published this game on May 16, 2024.
How to Play Metal Merge
To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the touchscreen with your fingers. Select the play button at the center of the screen to begin.
You begin with a random metallic pieces (either a nut, a bolt, or a washer) at the top center of the screen. Just above it is the next piece you’ll be dropping. Drop two identical pieces together to merge them together to form a larger piece. Keep dropping and merging until you form the largest piece. Merge the two largest pieces together to make them disappear.
If the stack of pieces reaches the top of the shaft, it’s game over.
Basic Gameplay Advice
You earn points each time you drop a piece; the score value of each piece depends on its size. The first piece dropped will not give you any points. The smallest piece is worth 2 points; the value of every subsequently sized pieces increase in value in increments of 2. You don’t earn points from merging pieces. Your web browser automatically saves your best scores; you can view your latest and best scores on the game over screen.
The game lets you plan ahead by seeing the next piece available. Use this to your advantage. Prepare a spot for both pieces before dropping the current one.
The game is untimed. Consider playing slowly so you can plan your moves with care.
Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy
The dashed vertical line indicates where the piece would drop; use this as a guide to carefully place each of the pieces where you want them to go.
Pay attention to the game’s physics. The pieces move around and can get knocked out of place if you drop new pieces above them at the wrong time. Wait till the stack stops moving before dropping pieces. You can also try to move pieces into place by knocking them with falling pieces.
Keep the pieces organized. Early in the game, try to keep the pieces in a stair-step arrangement, with smaller pieces on the left and larger pieces on the right. This will make the pieces easier to merge. As the game progresses, see if you can keep the bigger pieces in the center and the smaller ones out of the way. The sides are a good place to keep smaller pieces you can’t immediately merge. Don’t let the smaller pieces get in between the bigger ones.
