Chicken Merge and War Game Background

Chicken Merge and War is a tower defense game where you must take control of an army of chickens and defend yourself from a legion of marauding dogs for as long as you can. Its gameplay is superficially reminiscent of Plants vs. Zombies but has a level up mechanism determined by merging.

How to Play Chicken Merge and War

To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the touchscreen with your fingers. On the welcome screen, select Play at the center to begin.

Begin by selecting the chicken button on the bottom center left. Choose this button at least 6 times to have enough chickens on the stumps. The chickens will appear on the space behind the stumps. Select, drag, and drop the chickens onto the stumps, where they can attack. You can only put the chickens on the stumps or the spaces behind them. Drag and drop chickens onto the trash bin on the bottom left corner to get rid of them.

Select the play button on the field to start the raid. During the raid, various dogs will move to the barricade and try to bring it down. The chickens will automatically attack throughout the wave. Once the wave ends, you can use the proceeds you’ve earned from fighting the dogs to upgrade the chickens and repair the barricade.

Repeat the process until the barricade collapses. The game also lets you try to defend your barricade again after you fail without starting over.

Your web browser automatically saves your wave progress. If you quit mid-wave, it will resume the wave when you reload the game. To clear your progress and start over, select the trash button on the bottom right corner of the welcome screen, then select Yes.

Basic Gameplay Advice

The game is divided into waves. The first wave acts as a tutorial.

The game naturally generates chickens between levels 1 and 2 (and, in later levels, 3) each time you select the buy chickens button. To upgrade the chickens, merge two identically numbered chickens together. As much as possible, buy an even number of chickens to merge.

You earn money in three ways. First, you automatically gain money from every chicken you have. Second, you earn money from taking out enemy dogs. Finally, you receive bonus reward at the end of each wave. Use these to merge more chickens, repair your barricades, or purchase upgrades that will help you fend off the succeeding waves of dogs.

Select the arrow button near the bottom left corner to open the upgrades screen. Upgrades include the following bonuses:

• Increase attack power
• Increase attack speed
• Increase money earned per second
• Increase post-wave coin bonus
• Decrease shoot times

Chickens, upgrades, and barricade repairs have a ramping cost. As you buy them, they become more expensive.

There is no true end point in this game. Survive as many waves as you think you can afford.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

Unlike other tower defense-style games, this is a game for the patient. Be prepared to play waves multiple times before you earn enough coins to clear them. To save money, sometimes, it’s more important to lose a wave rather than spend on defenses until you’re sure you can afford paying for it multiple times.

Always leave enough room in your budget to repair your barricades at least once. This can help you prolong your defenses long enough to survive the wave. Do be aware of the ramping cost. Repair the barricades as close to the point of failure as you think you can afford.

Upgrade your attack strength and post-wave bonus first. This will help you bolster your defenses for the next wave.

This game features 30 waves, and gets quite difficult near the end.

Educational Aspects

Besides teaching players patience, this game also encourages players to learn about resource allocation. With an absurd ramping cost on everything, they must learn which expense to prioritize in order to survive the wave.
