How to Play Hungry Cats

Control the movements of the cats by pressing the WASD keys or the arrow keys on your keyboard. Press the W key, the up arrow key, or the spacebar to jump.

Basic Gameplay Advice

When you move one cat all cats move at the same time. You start off with a singular cat, but by the time you get to level 14 there are 4 cats. All cats have the same movements, though different aesthetic skins. If any of the cats run into lava, spikes, or cannon fire you lose the stage and start it again.

This game has 15 stages which are unlocked sequentially.

If you hold in the jump command for a long time you will jump higher than if you quickly tap the jump command.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

Some stages have cats that are easy to bring home to the door and others that are harder to retrieve. Try to bring the easy cats home first so you are focusing on less items when you make your moves.

On most stages it is typically best to try to do one cat at a time, so that your entire focus is on it. If you have multiple cats moving at once, determine if it is best that they are vertically aligned or if you want them misaligned.

If you want one cat to be stuck while others move then try to move it so it is stuck on the side of a wall. Another related solution is to jump into a wall, leaving it as a stop for one cat as the others move, and then pull back before hitting lower spikes.

On some stages, like on level 13, you have minimal vertical clearance for some of the jumps. This requires you to have precision timing when jumping over the spikes.

The early stages are quite easy, though the last third of the game is quite challenging. Gamers of all ages should like most of this game, and experienced gamers who like platformers or love cats should enjoy the entire game.
