Harbor Operator Game Review

Harbor Operator Game Background

Harbor Operator is a drawing-based path-making game. Draw a path to help the ships reach the ports without letting any of the ships collide.

How to Play Harbor Operator

To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the screen with your fingers.

On the welcome screen, select the play button on the bottom center left to open the level selection screen. From there, choose a level to play in.

To bring the boat to port, select it, then draw a path with your mouse or fingers to the port that matches the ship’s color. Ships can only dock on the port of their color. Don’t let any of the ships hit each other.

Basic Gameplay Advice

The game has 20 available harbors, some of which are named after real-world port cities. In each harbor, there are 3 available ports, one of each color, with which the ships can stay in.

A triangular warning sign appears at the top or bottom of the sea each time a ship passes through. When a ship shows up, you must either immediately bring it to port or have it idle somewhere until the port is free.

Ships only stay in port for a little while. Once the timer above them expires, they change direction and must be brought out to sea. Select the ship, then draw a path to safely bring it out of the port. It’s vitally important to clear the ports quickly, as new ships of the same color may come in.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

As much as possible, try to keep your paths as direct as possible. Only create longer, more meandering paths between ships to avoid them colliding with others.

If you find that ships of the same color appear to be coming in quickly, let the ship move around in circles until you clear the port. Make sure not to let it drift too far away from the port as you’ll need to bring it in as soon as you can.

Educational Aspects

This game hones a player’s path-making skills and tests their ability to manage oncoming demands and limited resources in an efficient manner.

Player Age Recommendations

This game is suited for players school aged and above. We recommend this game for players who like traffic management simulations.
