Word Cake is a word guessing game where you must form a set of words based on the letters provided. Connect each of the letters in the correct order to spell the required words.

How to Play Word Cake

To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the touchscreen with your fingers. To get started, select the play button at the center of the welcome screen, choose a level group, then choose a level.

To form words, select one letter, then select another one. For a word to count, the letters must be connected in the proper order that correctly spells the word. Spell all the required words to finish the level.

Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.

Basic Gameplay Advice

The game is divided into 40 level groups with at least 4 levels each.

To finish each level, you must spell the required number of words. The number of words to spell is shown on the top left corner of the screen. The words are divided between the number of letters required to spell them. While it makes sense to work on the smaller words first, you can try to spell out the larger ones, too.

You earn coins after finishing each level, the number of which depends on the number of words you’ve successfully answered. You can use 50 of these coins to pay for a hint. Each hint reveals one letter of a word. To activate a hint, select the hint button near the bottom right corner of the welcome screen.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

Like most word games, this game does not consider proper nouns as words. Stick to common nouns, verbs, and adjectives when spelling words.

Note that just because a word is valid doesn’t mean it will appear as one of the choices. If this happens, consider trying a different word.

If you’re ever stumped, use a hint. You typically need only one hint to solve a difficult word.
