Japanese Suika Game Review
Japanese Suika Game Background
Japanese Suika Game is a merging game themed after Japanese dishes and snacks. Merge identical food items together by dropping them next to each other. Keep merging until you form the largest food item.
This game was inspired by the original Suika Game and both games share fairly similar rules.
How to Play Japanese Suika Game
To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the touchscreen with your fingers. On the welcome screen, left click or tap anywhere to begin. This will immediately drop the starting item.
Select anywhere onscreen to drop the item there. Merge identical items together to form higher-valued items. Keep merging until you form the largest items. The game continues on after that and ends when the pile of food items you drop reaches past a dashed line at the upper part of the screen.
You earn points each time you merge. The point value of each merge you make depends on the size of the food items involved. For instance, merging the smallest items gives you 1 point, the next smallest 2 points, and so on. Your web browser automatically saves your best score.
Basic Gameplay Advice
The game allows you to plan ahead by showing the next food item you’ll be dropping. Forward thinking is your greatest ally in this game. Choose a location for both your items before you drop the first one.
Keep the placement of the food items as orderly as possible. Try not to let smaller food items get in the way of a pair of larger ones. Not only will this keep you from merging items right away, it will also create large voids that will bring your pile that much closer to the top.
Wait until the items stop moving before dropping another one. This will prevent the food items from moving out of place when you drop the next item.
Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy
The key to creating the largest possible food item is to merge the balls in an organized manner. Keep the larger balls on one side and the smaller ones in another. One system we recommend is a stair-step arrangement from left to right. From here, you can slowly build up the larger items without worrying too much about the smaller ones getting in the way.
One of the bigger challenges in this game is dealing with small food items. If you can’t find a place for them, it’s usually better to keep them away from the bigger items. We recommend tossing them to one side whenever this happens.
Remember, the game is not timed. You receive no bonus from dropping the food items quickly. Take your time when planning each drop to reduce the likelihood of making mistakes.
Educational Aspects
The game showcases but doesn’t label different types of Japanese snack foods. It teaches players patience, forward thinking, and strategic placement.
Player Age Recommendations
This game is suited for school-aged children and above. We recommend it for fans of merging games like 2048 and the original Suika Game.
