Basic Gameplay Advice
Basic Rules
Your goal is to clear the entire stack of tiles before the timer expires. Select pairs of identical free tiles to clear them from the stack. A free tile consists of one without a tile on top and at least one horizontal side without a tile beside it. The game handily washes out non-free tiles, which makes it easy to spot them.
You start with 1 minute and 8 seconds in the timer. Later levels have more tiles and subsequently more seconds on the timer. If you fail to clear the tiles on time, it’s game over. You can choose to try again or quit. Upon quitting, you can choose to save your final score on the leaderboard.
Levels & Scoring
The game has 10 levels, which are unlocked in sequence. You cannot replay any previously beaten levels. Each time you reload the game, you have the option to either continue your previous session or start a new one. Your web browser automatically saves your level progress.
Your scoring is cumulative across every level. Each pair of tiles cleared is worth 100 points. Upon finishing, every second left on the timer is also worth 30 points. You can save your final score on the leaderboard upon finishing the game or quitting after you fail a level. You can view the leaderboard by selecting High Scores on the welcome screen.
Assistance
You have two assistance options, which can be used as many times as needed. However, they will deduct points from your score each time you use them. These options are available on the center right edge of the screen below the pause button.
- Select the question mark button to use a hint. Hints cost 200 points and will highlight any random pair of valid tiles.
- Select the circle arrow button to use a manual shuffle. Manual shuffles cost 500 points and will rearrange all the tiles on the stack.
The game will also shuffle the stack automatically if no valid pairs of tiles can be formed. This has no score penalty.
Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy
Start clearing the tiles from the left and right edges inward. This will help open up more tiles to be paired off.
Avoid using the manual shuffle option early on. These cost a considerable number of points and can be acquired for free when you run out of every possible move.
