Candy Mahjong is a simple candy-themed Mahjong Solitaire game. Pair off identical free tiles to clear them from the stack. Clear off the entire stack before the timer expires.

How to Play Candy Mahjong

Select by left clicking with your mouse or tapping on the touchscreen with your fingers. On the welcome screen, select Play to begin.

To form and clear a pair of tiles, select one tile then select another free tile elsewhere on the stack.

Basic Gameplay Advice

Basic Rules

Your goal is to clear the entire stack of tiles before the timer expires. Select pairs of free identical tiles to clear them. Free tiles have no tile above them and at least one horizontal side without an adjacent tile. The game helpfully grays out all non-free tiles, allowing you to focus on the tiles you can clear.

If you run out of time, you will fail the level. The game gives you the option to either play again or quit. Quitting will clear your level progress and allow you to save your current score on the leaderboard.

Levels & Scoring

The game’s 10 levels are unlocked sequentially. You cannot replay levels you’ve already beaten. Your web browser automatically saves your level progress. Each time you reload the game, you can either choose to start from the first level (erasing your previous progress) or resume from the last level you’ve unlocked.

Every pair you clear is worth 50 points. Upon finishing, you also receive an extra 5 points for every second left on the timer. Your score is cumulative across every level. You can save your score to the leaderboard after finishing all the levels or after quitting. See the leaderboard by selecting the high scores button on the welcome screen.

Assistance

The game provides two assistance options, which are available on the top right corner of the screen. Each option can be used as often as needed but come at the cost of your score.

Hints cost 300 points and will highlight a random valid pair of tiles on the stack. Activate a hint by selecting the magnifying glass button. Manual shuffles, meanwhile, cost 500 points. This will rearrange every tile on the stack. Activate a shuffle by selecting the button with the arrows.

The game will automatically shuffle every tile onscreen if you run out of moves. Automatic shuffles will not cost you any points.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

Clear the stack effectively by starting from the left and right edges and working inward.

Of the power ups, use the manual shuffle the least. For most of the game, you can rely on the free automatic shuffle to generate new pairs. We recommend saving automatic shuffles for later in the game where you might have less time to spare.
