How to Play 4 Colors Monument Edition

To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the touchscreen with your fingers. On the welcome screen, select the play button on the bottom center to set up the game. Select a number of players to begin. If you’re playing for the first time, the game plays a short introductory tutorial that explains the game’s rules.

Select any cards to shed them. Select the draw pile to get a card from it if you have no valid card to use.

Basic Gameplay Advice

You can play this game against one, two, or three computer players

Each player begins with seven cards. To shed the cards, you must match its color or number with the one on the discard pile. Some special cards may only be discarded by matching them by color. Special cards can be shed situationally regardless of their color. To win a round, you must shed all of your cards before the other players. Once you have one card left, select the 1 button at the center as quickly as you can. If you fail, you get two extra cards as a penalty.

Besides number cards, the game also has an assortment of special cards you can use against your opponents.

• Draw Two cards force the next player to draw two cards and miss a turn.
• Skip cards makes the next player lose a turn.
• Reverse cards will change the player cycle from clockwise to counterclockwise and vice versa. The next player loses a turn.
• Wild cards can be placed on any colored card and allow the current player to dictate what the next color will be.
• Wild Draw Three cards force the next player to draw three cards and miss a turn. The current player gets to change the active color of the cards.

The Draw Two, Skip, and Reverse cards must match the colors of the topmost card on the discard pile. Wild and Draw Three cards can be paired with any color but cannot be deployed unless none of the other cards can match. Likewise, if you have both a Wild Card and a Draw Three, you must discard the Wild Card first.

Each card has a score value. Most cards have a value equal to their face value. Special cards, meanwhile, have higher values. Draw Twos, Skips, and Reverses are valued at 20 points each, while the Wild and Draw Three Cards are worth 50 points each. The winning player earns points based on the remaining hands of the losing players. The player who reaches 250 points first wins the entire match.

On the summary screen, you can continue the match by pressing the arrow button on the lower center right or quit to the welcome screen by selecting the home button on the lower center left. View the round’s aftermath by pressing the magnifying glass button on the lower center, then press the X button on the top left corner to return to the summary screen.

Once the match ends, you can play again by pressing the reset button on the lower center left of the summary screen.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

At the start of the game, it pays to play aggressively. Shed the cards with the highest value first, including any special cards that match the current color. These can immediately hinder your adjacent opponents. Follow this rule of thumb throughout the game. That way, even if you do lose the round, you can slow down your leading opponent and get another shot at winning.

Like in Uno, the player closest to victory must make themselves known. Once this happens to a player next to you, throw everything you have at the player by denying them turns or forcing them to draw more cards. This will not only take victory away from them momentarily but also give you more time to shed more cards. If the player is across from you, focus on denying them a turn by reversing the flow of the game away from them.

Each time you have a Wild or Draw Three card, make the most of it by changing the color to the one you have the most of.
