Candy Blocks Game Review
Candy Blocks Game Background
Candy Blocks is a space-filling spatial puzzle game inspired by Tangrams. Move each of the block-based shapes around to have them all fit in the space provided. The catch is that you must place each shape as is; you cannot rotate them.
This game was published by Redfoc.
How to Play Candy Blocks
Select by left clicking with your mouse or tapping on the touchscreen with your fingers. On the welcome screen, select the play button at the center to open the level selection screen. Select an unlocked level’s number to begin.
To move a piece, select it, then drag and drop it to where you think it should go. Be careful; once you drop a piece, you can’t move it anymore.
Basic Gameplay Advice
Your goal is to fit the shapes made of blocks shown onscreen onto the space provided. You can only move and pieces you select as is; these cannot be rotated. Once placed, the pieces remain where they are and cannot be removed. The game shows you 3 shapes at any given time; note that there could be more shapes.
You must ensure that every bit of space is covered by all the shapes shown. Placing a shape in the wrong place can make the level unwinnable. If you felt like you’ve made a mistake, select the pause button, then select Restart on the pause menu.
The game has 100 levels, all unlocked sequentially. You can replay any of the levels you’ve previously beaten.
Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy
The main challenge of this game is that it locks in the pieces when you place them. Conserve your moves by hovering the shapes above the grid without dropping it yet. Try to find a place for the larger or oddly shaped pieces first, then place the smaller ones after.
The pieces that come next after the first ones can come as a surprise. You can sometimes predict the shape of the next piece based on the ones already there. There will, however, be times that you would end a level in a game over simply because you had no idea what the next shape would be like. Subsequently, a lot of these levels will be a matter of trial and error. Find out the shape you’re getting next on your first playthrough, then work out its placement on your second one.
