Basic Gameplay Advice
Basic Rules
Select a pair of identical free Old West-themed tiles from the stack to remove them. The game helpfully highlights free tiles and grays out non-free ones. Remove all the tiles before the timer expires. If you run of time, it’s game over. You can try the level again or quit.
Levels
The game’s 30 levels are unlocked sequentially. Once you finish a level, selecting Next on the win screen will return you to the level selection screen. You can replay any of the levels you’ve previously beaten. Your web browser automatically saves your level progress.
Every level has a different layout and a different time limit. Each of the levels also has its own level score, which is shown below its icon on the level selection screen. You can replay levels to try to beat this score; it will only change if the new score is higher than the previous one.
Scoring
You earn 100 points toward your level score for every pair you remove. You also earn an extra 30 points for every second remaining on the timer.
Besides the individual level scores, you also have a total score that’s the sum of every level score you have. Replaying a level will only add to your total score if your new score is higher than your previous one.
You can save your score on the leaderboard after finishing all the levels or after ending a level in a game over.
Assistance
If you’re ever stuck, you can use hints and shuffles to help you out. Select the question mark button to use a hint and the shuffle button to shuffle the tiles. A hint will show you any valid pair you can remove anywhere on the stack. Likewise, shuffles will change the arrangement of tiles throughout the entire stack. This can help you make new obvious pairs and is a good option if you feel extra stumped.
You can use as many of these help options as you think you need. However, use these options sparingly. Hints deduct 200 points each from your total score, while shuffles take 300 points.
Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy
Your main focus throughout the game is to free up the tiles in the stack. Choose moves that allow you to open up the board by creating new free pairs. Start off by clearing tiles from the widest rows and deepest columns and work your way out. You’ve got this, partner.
