Happy Filled Glass 4 Game Review
Happy Filled Glass 4 Game Background
Happy Filled Glass 4 is a sequel to the Happy Filled Glass series of container filling spatial puzzle games. Your goal in this game is to fill up a glass somewhere at the bottom of the level with liquid by drawing a path using your mouse or fingers. Get the highest level ratings by drawing the shortest path possible.
How to Play Happy Filled Glass 4
To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the touchscreen with your fingers. On the welcome screen, select Start below the game’s title to open the level selection screen. Choose a level number to get started.
To draw, select and swipe anywhere on the screen. You can also select various elements within the level to activate them in some way. Once you’re done, select the faucet to pour in the water; note that there are times when the faucet will turn on by itself.
Basic Gameplay Advice
Your goal is to create a path for the water to flow down toward the glass at the bottom of the screen. Like in the previous games in the series, you mostly accomplish this by drawing barriers with your mouse or fingers to redirect the water toward the glass. To finish each level, enough water must reach the glass to fill it to capacity.
You can also select various object within the level to influence the path. Some of these include the following:
- Select magnets to turn them on and off. A magnet will hold the water while it’s on and drop it when it’s off.
- Select sponges to slide them out of the way. Sponges can block and absorb the water, preventing them from reaching the glass.
- Select platforms to tilt them. Ideally, you should tilt these in the direction of the glass.
- Select the purple item to create a barrier. It will attract water to the right. Select it again to attract water to the left, then select one more time to turn it off.
Pay attention to other level features such as the following:
- Portals. Divert water toward one end and have a path ready out the other.
- Conveyors. These resemble black platforms with arrows. Water that passes through conveyors will flow in the direction the arrows point at.
You must contend with a number of level hazards and obstacles. Some of these include the following:
- Water wheels, which can divert flowing water
- Gravity regions, which bring the water up or down depending on the directions the arrows point
- Warm platforms, which will evaporate water that touches it
- Balls, which can block glasses if allowed to fall
If you’re ever stumped, select the hint button on the top center of the screen. This will show you the ideal location of the lines. Using a hint will not affect your star rating in any way.
Your star rating for the level depends on the total length of the lines you draw. The more lines you use to create barriers, the lower the star meter goes. Each time the star meter goes past a marker, you lose a star. The highest star rating you can receive is 3 stars.
The game has 100 levels, which are unlocked sequentially. You can replay any of the levels you’ve already beaten. The number of levels you’ve unlocked appears at the bottom center of the welcome screen. Select the gear button on the bottom right corner of the welcome screen to clear your level progress; this cannot be undone.
Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy
Study the level carefully before drawing anything. You might find that merely drawing a path for the water will not be enough to bring it there. Examine each of the level elements and see how it might affect the water as it moves. Move or activate the elements in the level as needed and plan your paths around them.
Try to keep your paths wide enough for the water to pass through. Narrow, rough paths may cause a lot of the water to stagnate rather than flow freely toward the glass.
Educational Aspects
The game teaches creative problem solving. Players are encouraged explore level features and see how they work toward or against their goals. This game highlights the philosophy of “less is more.” Players are encouraged to be economical with their lines to earn higher star ratings.
Player Age Recommendations
This game is suited for players school-aged and above. We recommend this game for players who enjoy challenging drawing, physics, and spatial puzzles. Check out Happy Filled Glass, Happy Filled Glass 2, and Happy Filled Glass 3.
