Food Minesweeper Game Background

Food Minesweeper is a variation of the classic Minesweeper game which includes board layouts themed after foods like cheese, eggs, mushrooms, broccoli, fish, grapes, and root beer.

How to Play Food Minesweeper

Select which layout design you wish to play from the level select screen.

Left click on a random tile to uncover it.

Tap on the flag icon to plant a flag where you believe there is a mine, then unclick the flag button to play like normal.

Be sure you are aware of the flag status before each play you make, as if it set the wrong way you will lose the stage on your next move.

Next to the flag button there is a mine detector button, which briefly flashes where the mines are located. You can use it 5 times per round.

Basic Gameplay Advice

If an uncovered cell has no number inside it that means there are no adjacent mines in the surrounding 8 squares. If an uncovered square has a number inside it, that shows how many mines are in the adjacent 8 squares.

After you clear off some space and see some numbers you can use deductive reasoning to flag many mine locations and clear out additional cells where the math tells you no mines are present.

The upper left corner shows how many mines you have left to find.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

On most games of Minesweeper you usually have to start with a blind guess by picking a random cell on the grid. In this game the existence of the mine detector feature means you can make a lot of progress right off the start by using the mine detector before making your first move.

You can take a screenshot of the game when the mine detector is active to see where all of the mines are. 🙂
