Korean Suika Game Review
Korean Suika Game Background
Korean Suika Game is a merging game inspired by the original Suika Game and themed after various dishes from the Korean peninsula. Drop various dishes down the shaft and merge identical ones together. Keep merging until you form the largest dish.
How to Play Korean Suika Game
To select, left click with your mouse or tap anywhere on the touchscreen. Select anywhere on the welcome screen to begin. Selecting anywhere will drop the first dish down the shaft where your mouse or fingers were. Drop identical dishes next to each other to form a dish of a larger value.
Keep merging dishes until you form the largest one. The game continues after that. As the stack gets higher, a dashed line appears; if a dish moves past this dashed line, it’s game over.
You earn points from every dish you merge. The value of these points depends on the size of the dish. Merging the smallest dishes nets you 1 point, the next dishes 2 points, and so on. Your web browser automatically saves your best score. Your best score appears above the game’s title on the welcome screen.
Basic Gameplay Advice
The game shows you both the current and next dishes you’ll be dropping. Use this to plan out your next move. Make sure you have spots ready for both dishes before you drop the current one.
Keep the dishes as organized as possible. Keep the smaller food items away from larger items to keep them from getting in the way of merging. Small items in the way of bigger ones not only hamper merging but foster the creation of large voids within the stack that makes it taller than it needs to be.
The dishes frequently move around after you drop them. Wait for the dishes to stop moving before dropping the next one to prevent them from moving out of place. Alternately, you can drop a dish to nudge another pair closer together.
Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy
Keep the dishes organized to make them easier to merge. If possible, arrange them in a stair step manner with small dishes in one side and large ones in another (we recommend arranging them from left to right). This will help you build up larger dishes without getting the smaller dishes in the way.
The game only generates the first few small dishes, and will often generate small dishes at inconvenient times. If you find yourself with no other place to put smaller dishes, throw them into the edges of the shaft instead of the center. This will, if nothing else, keep them away from the bigger dishes that they might otherwise obstruct.
This is an untimed game. There are no score bonuses for moving quickly. We recommend taking it slow and planning each of your moves with great care.
Educational Aspects
The game teaches players the values of forward, strategic thinking. Because it has no time limit, it encourages players to take things slow and fosters patience. Although the game showcases various Korean dishes, it does not label them.
Player Age Recommendations
This game is suited for players school-aged and above. We recommend this for players who like easygoing merging games like the original Suika game.
