Basic Gameplay Advice
You begin with 5 nest slots and 200 golden eggs as a starting balance. Buy one of the nest slots to hatch your first dinosaur. Every starting dinosaur costs a specific number of golden eggs, which ramp up in cost as the game progresses. You can only hatch a dinosaur in a nest slot if you have a sufficient number of eggs.
Each dinosaur you have will automatically generate golden eggs. Select the dinosaurs to have them generate eggs faster. With the eggs you’ve earned, buy more dinosaurs and merge pairs of them to create dinosaurs of a larger value. These dinosaurs produce more eggs over time. As you merge higher-value dinosaurs, the base dinosaur you can hatch also rises in value.
The cost of producing dinosaurs from blank nest slots goes up as you create larger-valued dinosaurs. Repeat the process until you create the largest dinosaur in the game.
Merging Rubric
The dinosaurs merge as follows:
- Two green hatchlings produce a small green dinosaur.
- Two small green dinosaurs produce a large green dinosaur.
- Two large green dinosaurs produce a purple dinosaur.
- Two purple dinosaurs produce a large teal dinosaur.
- Two large teal dinosaurs produce a large striped light blue dinosaur.
- Two large striped light blue dinosaurs produce a large dark blue dinosaur.
- Two large dark blue dinosaurs produce a red dinosaur.
- Two red dinosaurs produce an orange dinosaur.
- Two orange dinosaurs produce a yellow dinosaur.
- Two yellow dinosaurs produce a purple dinosaur.
- Two purple dinosaurs produce a pink and orange striped dinosaur. You can only produce one of these.
After producing the last dinosaur, you can fill up the remaining nest slots with purple, yellow, orange, and red dinosaurs.
The cost of the dinosaur eggs ramp up during the following intervals:
- Creating a large teal dinosaur increases the hatch cost by 250. You hatch small green dinosaurs.
- Creating a large striped light blue dinosaur increases the hatch cost by 300. You hatch large green dinosaurs.
- Creating a large dark blue dinosaur increases the hatch cost by 350. You hatch purple dinosaurs.
- Creating a red dinosaur increases the hatch cost by 400. You hatch large teal dinosaurs.
- Creating an orange dinosaur increases the hatch cost by 450. You hatch large striped light blue dinosaurs.
- Creating a yellow dinosaur increases the hatch cost by 500. You hatch dark blue dinosaurs.
- Creating a purple dinosaur increases the hatch cost by 550. You hatch red dinosaurs.
Educational Aspects
This game introduces younger players to the concept of exponential growth and ramping costs. Every merged dinosaur is, at the start, worth the square value of its predecessor. Players must also factor in ramping costs on top of the exponential increases, though unlike most games these costs happen in traceable intervals.
Player Age Recommendations
The game is suitable for players school-aged and above. We recommend this game for players who like idle merging games and dinosaurs.
