Cut the Candy is a gravity-based physics puzzle game. Slice the string holding the candy at the right moment or do whatever other action is needed to bring it down to the hungry frog at the bottom of the level.

How to Play Cut the Candy

To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the touchscreen with your fingers. Select the play button on the bottom center of the welcome screen to load the level selection screen. Select a level to begin.

Cut the string holding up the candy by selecting anywhere near the screen and dragging in a horizontal motion. You can also activate buttons and pop bubbles by selecting them.

Basic Gameplay Advice

Your goal is to bring the candy to the froglike monster somewhere at the bottom of the screen. The candy is either held up by a (moving or stationary) string or by reversed gravity. Cut the string or press the gravity button at the right time to bring down the candy. You will fail the level if the candy hits a spike, gets shot by an electric current,

Levels feature an assortment of obstacles that you must work around. The most common of these are the electrodes, which come in pairs and periodically shoot out an electric current. Time your moves so the candy falls while the electrodes are off. Trampolines, meanwhile, let the candy bounce.

Some obstacles are removable. The bubble, for instance, will trap the candy if it falls in. Select the bubble to pop it. The yellow blocks will interrupt the candy as it rolls down the platforms. Select them to clear them from the path. Others are not. Spikes are stationary; you must find a way to have the candy to move away from them.

Each level has a star rating based on the number of stars the candy passes. You can finish a level without collecting any of the stars. You can only keep the stars if you successfully finish the level. To immediately restart a level, select the reset button on the top right corner of the screen. Your new score only replaces the old one if it is higher. There are 75 stars to collect in this game.

There are 25 levels in this game, which are unlocked sequentially. You can replay any of the levels you’ve already beaten.

Note: There are times when the game glitches out and the string is cut as soon as the level loads. Whenever this happens, simply select the reset button and try again.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

Electric currents appear and disappear in a predictable pattern. In most cases, you only need to get the candy rolling when the electrodes are off. Sometimes, though, you must cut the string while the electrodes are still active; the candy will arrive just as the electrodes deactivate and will move past it without getting hit.

Exactly when you need to clear the yellow blocks will depend on the level. In some levels, you must clear them all before dropping the candy to ensure that it retains momentum and isn’t otherwise derailed. In others, you must break only some of them before you drop the candy, then break the others as needed. In these cases, they can either help slow down the candy to the needed speed or redirect it to where it needs to go.
