Candy Connect is a confectionary-themed Mahjong Connect game. Connect pairs of identical tiles to clear them from the stack. The path connecting any pairs of tiles cannot have more than two 90-degree angles.

How to Play Candy Connect

To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the touchscreen with your fingers. Select the play button on the middle right edge of the welcome screen.

Select a tile, then select a tile of a similar shape or color in a valid location to clear them from the screen.

Basic Gameplay Advice

Basic Rules

Your goal in this game is to clear the entirety of the stack before the timer expires. Pair each tile with another of the same shape and color; unlike in other Mahjong Solitaire variants, you do not need to match the tiles with completely identical ones. Tiles can only be paired if they have a clear path that has less than two 90-degree bends to them. Tiles that are directly adjacent to one another can also be removed.

The game has no form of manual assistance (i.e. the shuffles and hints that appear in other games). However, the game will help you out in other ways. If you go for too long without clearing a pair of tiles, the game will highlight a pair somewhere in the stack. Likewise, the game will also automatically shuffle all the tiles in the level if you run out of valid moves.

You will fail the level if you run out of time. From there, you have two options: replay the level or quit and end your playthrough. Quitting will give you the option to save your score to the leaderboard.

Levels & Scoring

The game has 24 levels, which are unlocked sequentially. You cannot replay any of the levels you’ve already beaten. The game automatically saves your level progress. You have two options each time you reload the game: start from the beginning or resume from the last level you’ve unlocked.

Your score in this game is cumulative. Each pair of tiles you clear adds 50 points to your score. You also receive bonus points for every second remaining on the timer.

In addition, you also receive a chain bonus for clearing pairs of tiles in rapid succession, which adds up as you play. The chain sequence is as follows 30, 60, 100, 150, 210, 280, 360, 450, 550, 660, 780, 910, 1,050, 1,200, 1,360, 1,530, 1,710, 1,900, 2,100 and so on. Note that the chain breaks if you wait too long to clear another pair.

You can save your score to the leaderboard in one of two ways. The first is by finishing all the levels of the game. The second is by quitting after you fail a level; this will clear your previous level progress. You can view the leaderboard by selecting High Scores on the welcome screen.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

You earn more points by pairing striped candy tiles with plain ones. Mix and match these tiles whenever you can to gain more points.

Keep your chain bonus going for as long as possible. One way to maximize the amount of time you have is to match tiles that are further apart. The chain bonus will linger for as long as those tiles haven’t linked, which gives you more time to match even more tiles in the interim.

Finally, check if your gameplay was solid before proceeding to the next level. If you think you can do better, consider replaying the level by refreshing your browser.
