No More Rum Game Background
No More Rum is a ricochet-style shooting game where you take control of a drunken pirate. Shoot the bottles of rum as accurately as you can. Avoid shooting the pirate.
This game was created and developed by Guga Fred.
How to Play No More Rum
To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the touchscreen with your fingers to shoot. On the welcome screen, select Play on the upper left corner to begin. Choose a world, then choose a level to start playing.
To aim, move your mouse cursor or fingers around. Left click with your mouse or release your tap to shoot. Shoot down all the bottles of the screen without hitting the pirate. Try to shoot so that the bullet ricochets toward the bottles and away from the pirate.
If you hit the pirate, you fail the level. You can retry a level you failed as many times as you want.
Basic Gameplay Advice
Unlike in archery- and catapult-type games where the shot follows an arc, the bullets of this game shoot true. They will take a linear path to their destination until they bounce off something. Once they hit a breakable object such as a bottle, they will stop moving. They will also eventually lose momentum and
The game is divided into 4 worlds with 10 levels in each one, for a grand total of 40 levels. Levels are unlocked sequentially. Finish all the levels in World 1 to unlock the first level in World 2, and so on. You can replay any level you’ve already beaten.
Bullets will ricochet a set number of times before they run out of momentum. A bullet that’s out of momentum will not be able to smash a bottle of rum.
Later levels have a broad assortment of obstacles, including walls of planks, rocks above your head, and other obstacle. The bottles in later levels can also vary in size, adding a new dimension of difficulty to the game as you progress.
Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy
Try to shoot the bottles that are the hardest to hit, assuming that none of the other bottles are standing in their way. By aiming for the difficult bottles first, you’ll free yourself from the risks associated with trying to hit them right from the start.
If you must hit a specific board or bounce a shot off several boards, trial and error is your greatest ally. Take the time to track them each time you shoot. Pay attention where they go off, then adjust your aim incrementally until you get it right. Remember, changing the angle of your shot slightly will sometimes significantly change where the bullet lands.
The obvious or most direct-looking shot isn’t always the best one. If you’re aiming at something low, try to bounce a shot off the top of the level rather than shooting from a low angle that might be too tight.
If you’re shooting at a spinning piece of wood, try to hit it from the sides instead of the center. Shooting the sides will give the piece a lot of spin thrust.
Be aware of the hazards around the level. For instance, if you’re in a level with rocks above the pirate, see if you can shoot the rocks in a way that they’re pushed away from the pirate. Try not to knock the plank walls out as you can’t shoot through them. Any bottle trapped within them when they fall can’t be shot. Likewise, feel use objects that can smash through bottles whenever you can.
Remember, you can restart the level as many times as you want. If you make any mistake such as knocking a bottle too far or push a rock the wrong way, feel free to reset the game and try again.
Educational Aspects
The game hones and test a player’s aiming skills. As the game progresses, players must plan each of their shots based on previous attempts and their outcomes. It also helps players develop patience, as it takes time to finish some of the more complex later levels.
Moreover, the premise of the game also serves as a warning to not to handle firearms inappropriately and especially not to handle firearms at all after consuming alcohol.
Player Age Recommendations
This game is suited for players school aged and above. Although this game involves guns and mentions alcohol in its title, it encourages neither gun use nor drinking. We recommend this game for fans of ricochet-style shooting games.
Remember, kids, alcoholic drinks like rum are for responsible adults only. Adults, drink responsibly.
