Zombies Are Coming is a zombie shooting survival game. Aim the cannon and shoot at the oncoming horde of zombies for as long as possible. Use power ups to give your attacks a brief but massive boost.

How to Play Zombies Are Coming

To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the touchscreen with your fingers. On the welcome screen, select the play button at the center to begin.

Select anywhere onscreen to shoot in that direction.

Basic Gameplay Advice

Basic Rules

You take control of a stationary cannon that is besieged on all sides by an approaching horde of zombies. Take aim and shoot at the zombies as they approach you. Zombies emerge wherever a green cloud appears. Shoot as many zombies as you can for as long as possible. The zombies that reach you die on contact, but take out a heart container.

Zombies go down in one shot early on then become increasingly more powerful as the game progresses. In general, the bigger the zombie, the harder it is to kill. Zombies also move differently, with some walking straight and some moving side to side as they approach. A few zombies lurch faster than the others.

Your health indicators consist of heart containers, which appear on the upper left corner. You lose a heart each time a zombie gets near you. Lose all your hearts and it’s game over. You can replenish your heart containers by selecting the heart power up icons that appear onscreen.

Power Ups

Various powerup icons appear onscreen briefly. Shoot at them as you would with a zombie to pick them up. Make sure to collect them quickly, as they will eventually disappear and go unused. There are five types of power ups, four of which are collectible:

• Machine guns shoot 3 bullets at once in the same direction.
• Shotguns shoot spread the 3 bullets in various directions.
• Bombs blow up nearby zombies when detonated.
• Ice bomb freeze an area, stopping the zombies in their tracks for a brief period. The zombies resume movement when they thaw out.

Machine guns and shotguns are automatically equipped once you collect them. Meanwhile, bombs and ice bombs go into your inventory; you begin each session with one of each and their icons appear on the bottom left corner. To use them, select them, then drag and drop them to where you want them to go.

As you shoot, you also charge up the last power up, the lightning attack whose icon appears on the bottom right corner. Once you’ve slain 25 zombies, select it to activate it. It slays all zombies onscreen.

Scoring

Your score consists of the number of zombies you slay. Each zombie adds 1 point to your total. Your web browser automatically saves your best score. Your latest and best scores both appear on the game over screen.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

Pay attention to the way the zombies move and prioritize the zombies that move faster.

Bolster your attack and defensive strength by collecting and using power ups often. Bear in mind that some power ups work better for different opponents:

• Machine guns take down powerful enemies and work best for enemies that are walking straight.
• Shotguns are recommended for large groups of weak enemies and enemies moving side to side.
• Freeze bombs can buy you time to thin out large crowds of zombies.
• Bombs can clear large groups of zombies quickly.

Don’t miss heart containers, especially if you’ve lost a heart already. Replenishing your health is the key to longevity in the game.
