Woody Tap Block Game Review
Woody Tap Block Game Background
Woody Tap Block is a spatial logic disassembly game where you must remove all the pieces of wood onscreen. When selected, each piece of wood will roll in the direction indicated by the arrow unless stopped by another object. Roll each piece of wood away from the screen within the given number of moves by selecting them in the correct order.
This game was developed by PaintGame in March 2025.
How to Play Woody Tap Block
To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the touchscreen with your fingers. Select the play button at the center of the welcome screen to begin.
Select a piece of wood to roll it away. It will move in the direction where the arrow is pointing.
Some pieces of wood are attached to control arms connected to a fulcrum. Tapping on the fulcrum rotates the pieces clockwise 90 degrees, unless the movement is blocked, in which case the pieces will move 180 degrees if that is not blocked. Each rotation costs you a move just like moving a block costs you a move. Blades can also be attached to fulcrums via arms.
Basic Gameplay Advice
Roll away or shred the pieces of wood by selecting them in the correct order. To clear the level, remove all the pieces of wood within the number of moves indicated on the top center of the game screen. If you run out of moves, you fail and must try again. If you think you’ve made a mistake, select the reset button on the top right corner to restart the level from the beginning.
Levels
The game has 100 levels, which are unlocked sequentially. Your web browser automatically saves your level progress. Each time you reload the game, you begin at the last level you’ve beaten. As you play the game, levels become increasingly more complex.
Features
Levels have a number of features that affect how you play the game. Some have blades, which you can use to get rid of inward-facing pieces of wood. Likewise, some levels have spinning axels that allow you to change the orientation of the pieces of wood attached to them. Axels may also have blades. Spinning these will allow you to take out groups of blocks at once. Each time you spin the axel it rotates 90 degrees clockwise unless a 90 degree move is not possible, then it tries 180 degrees. Each spin attempt costs you a move.
When you advance deeply through the game you encounter bombs, which blow up adjacent cells whenever you slide a wood block into them.
Some stages have black stones which can only be destroyed by either detonating an adjacent bomb or spinning a blade on a fulcrum into them.
Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy
The general strategy to follow in most levels is to start outward and move in. Remove all the outermost pieces that point outward to open up the level, then clear more and more blocks until the stack is completely cleared.
In general, you have enough moves for every piece. Sometimes, though, the number of moves may not reflect the number of pieces. At times, though, levels can have more or fewer moves, which could indicate the strategy you need to employ. Some levels require you to move one piece aside without removing it entirely to allow other pieces to be cleared. Other levels need extra moves to orient the pieces in the correct direction. Some levels require leaving certain blocks in place until you blow them up via an adjacent bomb blast, or hit them with a blade on a fulcrum.
