Witch Mirror Game Review
Witch Mirror Game Background
Witch Mirror is a retro-styled tandem escape room game. You take control of two witches that move in parallel but opposite directions. The witches can teleport to each other’s positions. Use the ghost witch’s powers to get past obstacles and bring the tangible active witch to the portal.
How to Play Witch Mirror
To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the touchscreen with your fingers. On the welcome screen, select the play button at the bottom center to open the level selection screen. Select an unlocked level to begin.
On a desktop, use the alphanumeric or arrow keys on your keyboard to move.
- Press the left arrow or the A key to move to the left.
- Press the right arrow of the D key to move to the right.
- Press the up arrow or the W key to jump.
- Press the J key to switch between the witches.
On a touchscreen device, tap on the on-screen controls to move. The left and right buttons appear on the lower left of the screen. The teleport button appears as a witch hat on the lower right of the screen. To the right of the teleport button is the jump button, which looks like a sock.
Basic Gameplay Advice
Your goal is to bring both witches to the gray portal without touching any of the various level hazards each witch might encounter. You can move directly control only one of the witches, but move both witches simultaneously. The act of switching between the witches is called “teleporting.” The active witch is rendered in full color, whereas the inactive one is translucent. The witch not currently active moves in the horizontal direction opposite of the active one. This witch, effectively a ghost, can move through blocks.
If the active witch runs into a spike or hit an enemy, you will fail the stage. You will also fail if you teleport and one of the witch’s destinations is partially covered in blocks. Only the currently active witch can get hit by hazards. You have the option to replay the stages as many times as you need.
The game has 20 stages, which are unlocked sequentially. You can replay any of the levels you’ve already beaten.
Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy
Remember: levels are not timed. You can freely take all the time you need to map out the levels and work out a suitable path.
A few moves in this game demand you switch between witches mid-jump. Take advantage of the brief delay between the switching and the switch being active to switch at the start of your jump rather than mid-jump.
The witches move symmetrically, and should often stay that way to finish the level. However, a misstep (such as failing to jump over an obstacle) can cause the witches to lose their symmetry. In these cases, it’s sometimes better to start the level all over again.
One of the best ways to evade moving enemies is to jump over them while they move in the opposite direction. This gives you more clearance to evade them.

This game hones a players hand-eye coordination, spatial thinking, and problem-solving skills. It is also a test of a player’s patience.
