Watermelon Run Game Review
Watermelon Run Game Background
Watermelon Run is a maze attack styled game where players move a retro character around the mazes to collect all of the watermelon slices.
We also offer the sequel to this game, Watermelon Run 2.
How to Play Watermelon Run
Use the arrow keys to move the character around the playing field. The player moves from side to side until it runs into a wall or another object.
Basic Gameplay Advice
The goal of the game is to collect all the watermelons on each stage without getting burned.
None of the 25 stages are timed, but the game features a single-hit death, so you have to play with caution on the more complex stages.
Burners
The burners are hot when red and cold when gray. All burners regularly cycle back and forth, with some in sync with each other and the remaining out of sync. Only cross them when they are gray.
Additional Level Features
Activate green switches to change the locations of the green checkered boxes. Spots with a box outline will turn into active boxes while the spot where there were boxes will turn into outlines you can pass through.
When you run into arrows they you in the direction they point. Watch the path of where they direct you as you may have to make another quick move if they stop you over a burner.
Warp boxes look similar to the regular blocking green boxes, except that they have larger squares on them and the squares move. Pass through warp boxes to move around the levels. When you exit a warp box you will keep moving the same direction you moved when you entered the prior warp box.
Green boxes with 4 dots moving around their walls are pause boxes, which you stop on whenever you pass over them. When you land on a pause box you can then continue in the direction you were previously headed or change directions.
Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy
Some areas can only be reached through the warps or stop boxes, and require flipping the switches a set number of time to have the green blocking boxes in the correct positions.
Take time when moving over burners as that is the only thing that can hurt you.
Educational Aspects
This game can help kids better develop timing and route planning skills. There are many logic puzzle elements to how the stages are constructed, making some of them more challenging than they first appear.
Player Age Recommendations
Early stages are quite easy and the game is quite short, making it fun for all ages.
