Watermelon Run 2 Game Review
Watermelon Run 2 Game Background
Watermelon Run 2 is a variation on the maze attack game, where you must collect all the watermelon pieces scattered about the playing field.
How to Play Watermelon Run 2
Press the brown button on the lower center of the welcome screen to bring up the level select screen.
Use the arrow keys to move the character around the playing field.
Basic Gameplay Advice
The goal of the game is to collect all the watermelons without dying or getting stuck.
Avoid hitting the red oven squares, falling through holes in the edges of the course, or getting stuck in an area that does not allow you to reach any remaining watermelons.
The game features 35 stages which are unlocked sequentially.
Level Features
- Dark green boxes with a checkered design allow you to pass through them once then become solid boxes like walls and a brighter green color after you pass through them once.
- Arrows bounce you in the direction they point.
- Brown stones disappear after you run into them once, though you must be at least 2 squares away from them when you make your move into them to cause them to disappear.
- Wall gates open after you pass over certain squares on the playing field.
- Green checkered squares with moving checkers are warps. When you go in a warp you go out the other warp, and maintain your movement direction.
- On stages with multiple warps the warps are color coordinated as a set.
- On stage 34 the wall gates move back and forth each time you make a move.
Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy
If you get stuck quickly press the restart button in the upper right corner and try again.
If there is a particular watermelon you are struggling to get consider changing your route to try to grab it earlier. Changing your initial movement direction can dramatically alter your optionality.
