How to Play Viewnemy

Press the gray PLAY button in the center of the loading screen to bring up the welcome screen. Select the NEW GAME button to start a new game, or CONTINUE to resume a prior play.

Move left by pressing the A key or the left arrow key.

Move right by pressing the D key or the right arrow key.

Jump by pressing the space bar. Press twice to double jump.

Basic Gameplay Advice

In this game the spotlights are your enemies. Some are stationary while others walk. You must jump on them to turn them off. When you turn off the spotlights they show a dim gray color rather than the bright color they once showed.

After turning off all the lights in an area jump through the dashed horizontal line near the top of the screen to play the next section. The horizontal bar is locked until all the spotlights have been turned off. This game has a total of 13 stages, as indicated by the horizontal bars. If you die you start at the beginning of the current level.

When you get up to stage 6 and beyond there are cannons which operate similar to spotlights, though they are stationary and shoot a steady stream of illuminating bullets which reveal the landscape, but must be avoided. After the cannons are hit their bullets can no longer hurt you.

Avoid running into the sides of spotlights or walking on spikes.

Jump into exclamation point boxes in order to illuminate the areas around them.

Some levels have red lock blocks on them. You will need to step on the red button in order to remove the blocking boxes.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

You can see parts of the levels based on the movements of the lights and the bullets which move across the screen. Try to measure the hazardous spots and jump locations in advance.

When the spotlights are defeated you can use standing or jumping on them for a bit of extra elevation and us them as safe spots as you move around the levels.

If a particular jump seems impossible you may need to go another direction (even into the darkness) to be able to get enough clearance to make a long and high jump.

If you are jumping near the roof of a stage and need to double jump over spikes try to save the second jump until near the spikes, as you can hit your head on the dotted line and fall back down.
