Twin Trail Game Review
Twin Trail Game Background
Twin Trail is a tandem moving adventure where players must move the boys around so that both open up treasure chests at the same time.
This game was published by Maximiliano Demonte’s QKY Games Studio.
How to Play Twin Trail
Press the orange play button at the bottom center of the loading screen to bring up the welcome screen. Press the orange play button in the lower part of the welcome screen to bring up the level select screen. Tap a level number to begin playing it.
Use the WASD keys or the arrow keys to move both boys around the stages. The initial stage has only one boy, but all subsequent stages have 2 players which both move at the same time.
Basic Gameplay Advice
The goal of the game is to safely open both treasure chests at the same time by having the boys face toward the treasure chest and try to move into it at the same time from the same direction. This game has 24 stages which are unlocked sequentially.
Whenever you move both players move, so if you need to adjust their relative alignment you can position one of them so they get stuck on a rock, an edge of the course, or a treasure chest, then keep moving the other until the relative alignment is in order. Players can not pass through fixed obstacles, nor can you fall off platform off the islands.
The one thing you are not allowed to touch is the blue slime creatures.
Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy
There is no move count limit and no time limit, so it can be helpful to think through the level design before you start moving. Consider which player you want to reach each treasure chest.
If you are having trouble figuring out how to beat a stage perhaps it can instead make sense of considering where you can get a character stuck, then use that to measure their spatial distance with regards to the treasure placements.
On some stages to get the relative spacing correct you need to get one character stuck, adjust placements, then get the other character stuck before reaching the treasure chests.
You can open the treasure chests from any side, but remember both characters must face the treasure chests from the same side.
Educational Aspects
This game can help improve spatial awareness.
