Basic Gameplay Advice
Combat
Your goal is to take out every enemy ninja in a level before they do the same to you. Each level has between 1 and 3 enemy ninjas, which appear on various platforms. Take out ninjas by throwing a shuriken at them. While you aim, a series of dots forming an arc appears showing the trajectory of your shot.
Where you hit enemies matters. It generally takes a number of shots to take out any foe; hitting them in the head will kill them instantly.
After you kill all the enemies in a level, the game generates a new set of platforms and enemies. Keep killing enemies until they slay you. You take damage each time an enemy hits you. Your damage accrues until you perish.
Scoring and Stats
Your score is determined by the number of levels you’ve beaten. Every level you beat is worth 1 point. Your web browser automatically saves your best score.
The game keeps track of the following statistics besides your score:
- The number of headshots you make
- The number of ninjas you take out.
- The number of shots you make
- Your accuracy rate
You can view your latest and best scores along with your game stats at the game over screen.
Upgrades
You earn 3 coins each time you take out an enemy ninja. Use the coins you’ve earned over the course of the game to buy various health and weaponry upgrades.
The game has 3 sets of upgrades:
- “Headbange” (headbands): These bolster your health.
- Shuriken: These increase your attack strength.
- Power ups: These provide costly one-time bonuses.
Once you buy an upgrade, it remains unlocked. You can switch between any of the upgrades you’ve unlocked any time you want.
Of these, the power ups are the hardest to save for as they all cost 1,000 coins. The most cost-effective power up is the shield. It protects you from damage for up to 3 hits, though it must be purchased again afterward. The other two, the super ray and the bomb, add extra damage, though this can also be done by headshots. Equipping the bomb lets you throw a bomb every four throws, while equipping the super ray lets you do extra damage to the enemy.
Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy
After you kill off all the enemies in a level, the current platforms disappear and are replaced by new ones. Use this to plan your shot order and begin aiming at the next set of ninjas before they appear.
Prioritize which ninjas to shoot. The best ninjas to take out first are those closest to you and those which don’t need a high arc to take out. Taking out closer and easier-to-shoot ninjas reduces the most immediate threat that could actually hit you. Save the furthest ninjas for last, as they’ll have just as much of a hard time hitting you.
Try to go for the headshots. A headshot is an instant kill and will neutralize enemies immediately.
Educational Aspects
This game hones a player’s ability to aim quickly and efficiently. It also encourages players to prioritize targets
Player Age Recommendations
The game is suited for players school-aged and above; although the game depicts some blood and violence involving weapons, it is only done against obviously cartoon character stickmen. It otherwise has no adult content. We recommend this game for players who like aiming and throwing games.
