How to Play Tennis is War

To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the touchscreen with your fingers. On the welcome screen, select Play at the center to begin.

On a desktop, press the left and right arrow keys on your keyboard to move. Press the space bar to activate the pro shot. On a touchscreen device, tap on the left or right sides of the screen to move. Tap anywhere to lock in the pro shot.

Basic Gameplay Advice

Move toward the ball and catch it to bounce it back to the other side of the court. Repeat the process to keep it in play. Earn points by returning each serve. If you fail to return a shot, it’s an instant game over. The character turns into a tombstone as a literal interpretation of the term “sudden death.” You will also lose if you shoot a ball out of bounds using a pro shot. The game may also replace balls with bombs; avoid these at all cost.

Levels are unlocked sequentially. You must earn 10 points to unlock a new level. The game does not save your level progress; when you lose, you must start again at the first level.

Coins appear throughout the level. Pick them up whenever you can, but don’t prioritize them. If you earn enough coins, you can use them to unlock new ball skins. You can unlock new balls at the shop, which you can access by selecting the shop button on the welcome screen.

Pro Shots

As you return serves, you slowly charge your pro shot. It takes 5 returns to charge a pro shot. The pro shot to lock in a shot in any direction you choose. Select when the arrow is at the desired direction to shoot. Take advantage of the pro balls to protect your score. If your opponent hits the pro shot, you will lose all your points. If you do, you will switch sides with your opponent.
