Tap Tap Shots Game Review

Tap Tap Shots Game Background

Tap Tap Shots is an idle tapping-style basketball shooting game. Bounce the ball the right number of times to get it to the same level as the hoops. Get the ball into the hoop before the timer runs out.

Although the objectives are different, the bouncing-based gameplay may remind gamers of Flappy Bird and others of its genre.

How to Play Tap Tap Shots

To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the touchscreen with your fingers. Select the play button at the center of the loading screen to bring up the welcome screen. Select anywhere on the welcome screen to start the game.

Select anywhere to bounce the ball. Bounce the ball to get it through the hoop. Keep bouncing the ball until it reaches the basketball hoop. Pass the ball through the hoop to earn a point.

You only have a limited amount of time to bounce the ball to the next hoop. If the timer runs out before it can reach the hoop, it’s game over.

Basic Gameplay Advice

The ball automatically moves toward the direction of the hoop, with the only exception being if it bounces off the backboard. When this happens, select again to have it bounce back in the correct direction. Each selection you make dictates how many times it can bounce. The play area wraps around itself. If the ball disappears into the left, it automatically reappears on the right.

Each basket acts as a level unto itself. The first basket is the most forgiving, as it has no limits to how much time you have. The second basket onwards have you racing against the timer. Your ball’s timer refills each time you land a basket.

You can earn between 1 to 2 points based on how many times the ball hits the rim of the hoop before going in. You earn 2 points if you dunk the ball; this means that the ball cleanly falls into the hoop without hitting its rim. A shot where the ball hits the backboard also counts as a clean shot as long as it doesn’t touch the rim. If the ball touches the rim heavily at least once, it is not considered a dunk and is worth 1 point. If the ball touches the rim multiple times, no points are awarded when it falls in.

The ball heats up after you make consecutive point scores. Dunking the ball while it’s literally on fire (after two consecutive dunks) will grant you more points. The number of points increases in increments of 1 (first dunk after the fire starts is 3, second is 4, and so on). The ball remains on fire as long as you can keep dunking it without hitting the rim too much. The ball goes back to 1 point per basket when it hits the rim too much.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

The key is to bounce the ball the right number of times to make it reach the hoop. The number of times you need to click or tap is dictated by the height of the hoop. In general, taller hoops require more taps. Try to avoid tapping too many times as well, as it can lead you to overshooting and missing the hoop altogether.

Try to aim for clean shots to set your ball on fire. While the ball is on fire, you gain more points per shot.

Educational Aspects

This game hones a player’s response times and encourages rapid decision-making skills. Players must decide within a split second when to bounce the ball to get it through the hoop.
