Sweetopia Game Background

This is a platforming game where players aim to make it to the exit door, using a powerful set of candy canes to help them along the way.

Levels are untimed, but you can not run into any sharp objects or else you lose the stage and have to start over.

How to Play Sweetopia

Players can move the purple bunny left by pressing the A key or the left arrow key.

Players can move the purple bunny right by pressing the D key or the right arrow key.

Players can jump by pressing the W key or the up arrow key.

Players can throw candy canes at platforms by pressing the J key.

Basic Gameplay Advice

This game has 20 stages which are unlocked sequentially. You can go back and replay previously beat stages at any time.

You have unlimited candy canes, but you can only use one candy cane at a time. As soon as you throw the next candy cane the prior candy cane disappears.

Candy canes can both be used as temporary platforms, to switch the status of switchboxes, and to push movable blocks into position.

• Some platforms can appear or disappear based on the status of a red or green box.
• If you have ice you want to remove you want to hit a gray box with a candy cane to turn it blue and remove the ice.
• When you knock a box off a platform you can use it on a lower platform, but you can’t easily get movable blocks to move up platforms.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

In some cases you have to go way out of the way in order to place a candy cane in a location you would like to drop onto from another area, then go the long way around and land on that candy cane. You can toss candy canes at a nearby wall while ascending in order to build a ladder one rung at a time.

Candy canes only stick into some types of walls. Ice and lighter colored walls do not take candy canes.

Some of the candy cane throws require precision timing in order to hit switch boxes while falling, or to be high enough up to get one to the next platform while still allowing you to be able to make the jump.

Educational Aspects

This game has tight controls, but asks a lot of players in terms of hand and eye control. The many uses of candy canes also can help kids develop their problem-solving skills.

Player Age Recommendations

Grade school students and middle school students with limited gaming experience may find this game a bit frustrating. Older students and platforming lovers of all ages should enjoy this game.
