Supermarket Numbers is an arithmetic game where you must create equations that result in the number shown on the top left corner. To beat each level, create as many equations as you can to fill the meter before the timer runs out.

How to Play Supermarket Numbers

To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the touchscreen with your fingers. On the welcome screen, select Play to begin.

Basic Gameplay Advice

Basic Rules

Form the number shown on the top left corner by selecting chains of numbers on the field. The equations can be as long or as short as needed; longer equations are worth more points. Fill the meter shown on the right side of the screen before the timer expires to beat the level.

The game is fundamentally an addition game. The basic operation adds all selected numbers to create the sum shown. However, the other operators are incorporated through negative numbers (subtraction), multipliers, and denominators. Both multipliers and denominators apply to the number to the left of them rather than the sum (e.g. 9 + 1 x 2 will equal 18, not 20). Thus, to use them, your intended target must be the number that will go to their left.

As the game progresses, more numbers fill in the space. For most of the game, they are replaced at a consistent speed. However, when you’re close to clearing all the tiles, the game will catch up and drop more tiles faster. Don’t let the space fill up with number tiles. This will result in a game over.

Levels & Scoring

The game has 10 levels, which are unlocked sequentially. You cannot replay levels you’ve previously beaten. Each time you reload the game, you can choose to start from the first level or continue from the last one you’ve unlocked. Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.

Every number you connect to the equation is worth 30 points; the more numbers in your equation, the higher your score.

Power Ups

The flame power up appears on occasion,. Select it, then select another number to clear off as many numbers from the play area as possible. This will give you a massive number of bonus points. We recommend using the flame power up for larger, harder-to-reach numbers.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

While all your answers must be positive, the game has negative numbers. In later levels, these could quickly fill up the board if left unused. Rather than merely aiming for precise amounts, consider overshooting and subtracting to get the desired amount. Not only will this keep your play area free from negatives, it will also help keep your

Multiplication tiles are the most useful as they can help you achieve much larger numbers quickly. We recommend saving number 9 tiles and pair them with multipliers to create larger numbers faster. Use them in tandem with negative numbers to achieve precise amounts.

Denominators, meanwhile, are considerably less useful. We recommend that you avoid them.
