Super Archer Game Background

Super Archer is a retro-styled cartoon side-scrolling platformer. Reach the end of each level while picking up as many stars and treasure as you can. Defeat your foes by shooting arrows at them.

How to Play Super Archer

To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the touchscreen with your fingers. On the welcome screen, select New Game to begin a new session or Continue to resume a previously saved session. This will open the level selection screen. Select an unlocked level number to begin.

On the desktop, use the keyboard to navigate. To run, press the left and right arrow keys. Press the up arrow key to jump. Press the X key to shoot arrows.

On a touchscreen device, tap on the controls on the bottom row. Tap on the left and right arrow buttons on the bottom left corner to run. On the bottom right corner, tap on the up arrow button to jump and tap on the bow and arrow button to shoot.

Basic Gameplay Advice

Basic Rules

Your main goal is to reach the end of the level alive. Along the way, you can collect stars and treasure in the form of coins. Attack or avoid enemies before they attack you.

Silver and gold coins can be found throughout the level. They can be found on the ground or hidden in boxes; boxes can hold either one or multiple coins. To retrieve coins from boxes, bump them with your head.

You attack foes by shooting arrows at them. To collect more ammunition, collect piles of arrows in and around the level. Enemies you kill add points to your score.

Levels

The game has 6 levels, which are unlocked sequentially. Each level you’ve played has a star rating and score record you can beat. You can go back and replay any level you’ve previously beaten to improve your ratings and score. Your web browser automatically saves your level progress, scores, and star ratings.

Hearts & Dying

You begin each game with 3 hearts, which act as your hit points throughout the level. Each time an enemy makes contact with you, you lose a heart. Lose all your hearts and you fail the level. Replenish your hearts by picking up hearts that lie on the ground at the level. Each level has a limited number of hearts to pick up; avoid picking them up when you have full hearts.

If you fall off a ledge, you die instantly regardless of how many hearts you have.

Scoring

Coins have different score values. Common silver coins are worth 325 points while rarer gold coins are worth 1,000 points. The stars you pick up are worth 10,000 points. Enemies are worth 1,000 points when killed.

Although star ratings are independent of your score, they are still crucial to gaining the highest possible scores in a level. The point boost provided by collecting all of them is key to a high score.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

Shoot carefully. You only have a limited amount of refill arrows in each level to take out your foes. Likewise, avoid collecting hearts if you still have 3.

Some boxes appear in isolated, out-of-the-way corners of the level that require a lot of platforming to reach. Although this is entirely optional, you can try to reach them and collect the coins inside them to boost your final score at the end.

Educational Aspects

This game hones a player’s hand-eye coordination and response times. It also emphasizes the importance of conserving limited resources, as arrows and extra health are hard to come by in each level.

This game is suited for players school-aged and above. We recommend it for players who enjoy retro-styled side-scrolling platformers.
