Stickman Race Game Review

Stickman Race Game Background

Stickman Race is a stick figure-themed death course endless running game. Your goal is to run as far as you can down a hazardous path lined to the brim with enemies and hazards. See how far you can go.

This game was developed by Maximiliano Demonte of QKY Games Studio.

How to Play Stickman Race

To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the touchscreen with your fingers. On the loading screen, select anywhere to bring up the welcome screen. Select the play button on the welcome screen to begin.

Select anywhere onscreen to shoot; your shots go in the direction you clicked or tapped. To stop running, press the S key on your keyboard or tap on the stop button on the lower left corner. To jump, press the W key or tap on the jump button on the lower right corner.

Playing in small mobile devices may be more difficult than playing on a desktop. Small screen sizes make it hard to aim with precision and your fingers may make it harder to see where you’re going. Moreover, you immediately start moving after you shoot on mobile, whereas you can stay still after shooting on a desktop.

Basic Gameplay Advice

Basic Rules

You play as a stick person. Your goal is to run as far as you can through a death course where hazards and enemies await you along the way. You automatically run by yourself and must stop as needed. This includes when on a moving platform or when trying to attack distant foes.

You begin with a full health bar, which appears on the top left corner of the screen. Each time you get hit by foes or hazards, you lose health. Lose all your health, and it’s game over.

Features

The game’s path features many convenient movement aids, including zip lines and platforms. Zip lines can carry you over enemies, wide chasms, and hazards like spikes and blades. You hop onto a zip line by jumping. Meanwhile, you have three options for getting down. You can ride the zip line all the way, stop to hop off immediately, or jump before the zipline ends to move further away.

Moving platforms let you cross wide chasms. Throughout the time you ride them, you must stop, moving only when you’re about to jump off. Fixed floating platforms can be used the same way as regular platforms, with the added bonus of them not causing you damage when you hit them. They will still slow you down.

Hazards

Hazards impede your progress and can cause you harm. You must take action against hazards whenever you encounter them. Your usual recourse is to avoid them at the right time, though for rocks and enemies, you also have the option to shoot them. Stop signs will often app

The chief hazard in this game are chasms and other stick people. You risk falling off chasms and dying if you don’t jump over them at the right time. Enemy stick people are armed with bazookas and will shoot you with them. Every enemy shot takes away 20 percent of your health. Fortunately, they usually go down in one shot.

Spikes and spinning blades will harm you if you hit them. Spikes are stationary and will take 25 percent of your health if you hit them. Spinning blades, meanwhile, move back and forth and will take half your health. Platforms will often have multiple blades.

Rocks act as an obstruction. You can clear them out by shooting at them.

Scoring

Your score appears on the top center of the game screen and is based on the number of meters you run and the number of enemies you kill. Every meter you ran is 1 point and every enemy slain is worth 50 points. You can view your total score and kill count on the game over screen. Your best score appears on the center of the welcome screen.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

Be careful where you stop jump. In most instances, you shouldn’t hit stop in the middle of a jump at all, as it’ll cause you to plummet straight down.

If an upcoming platform is directly below you, you may not need to jump at all. Just fall into it. Likewise, running toward the side of a platform will not hurt you, but will cause you to stop. Use this to your advantage.

Frequent stops are a key part of this game. You don’t receive any penalties for stopping frequently, and you can stop for as long as you want. Parts of the course that seem complex may require careful analysis before you move; feel free to figure it all out before moving. Likewise, if you see enemies from a distance, you can shoot them down.

Educational Aspects

This game helps a player develop both hand-eye coordination and strategic thinking. Despite its name, merely outrunning hazards isn’t the only way forward. Carefully assessing threats and responding to them appropriately is the key to going far.

Player Age Recommendations

The game is suited for players school-aged and above. We recommend it for players who like fast-paced obstacle avoidance endless running games.
