Basic Gameplay Advice
Basic Rules
You move through the level from one end of the corridor to another, stopping only at the end of a corridor or right in front of a chasm. Pick up the blocks to build bridges across chasms in the corridors. These bridges follow the shape of the corridor. The blocks you laid down will remain a bridge for the rest of the level.
Unlike other bridge building games, you won’t fall off the edge if you don’t have enough blocks to finish it. You will instead stop at the block you last laid down.
To win, pick up all the boxes and make it safely to the stairwell. Each time you make it, the game automatically loads the next level. If you touch a spike, you lose. You automatically restart the game each time you lose.
Levels & Features
The game has 15 levels, which are unlocked sequentially. You can replay any of the levels that you’ve previously unlocked. As the game has no “thanks for playing” screen, the screen goes black after the 15th level. Your web browser automatically saves your level progress.
Levels have 2 main obstacles, chasms and spikes. To get over chasms, you must build bridges over them using spikes. Chasms, however, can’t actually kill you. Spikes will kill you if you touch them. These retract periodically, giving you a small window to pass through them unharmed. Tiles on the floor with arrows on them will redirect your movement in the direction shown each time you pass them. You cannot go across them when moving in the opposite direction.
Scoring
You earn points based on the number of boxes you pick up. Every box is worth 100 points. The points you earn per level is unique to it; you have no cumulative score. Each time you die, the level score resets to zero.
Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy
Passing spikes is one of the biggest challenges in the game. When planning your routes, figure out a path that minimizes the number of times you pass through spikes. If at all possible, cross the spikes from a nearby square so you can wait until the spikes retract.
Spikes that are more distant or out of your immediate view are a tougher matter. In these instances, try to estimate when the spikes will emerge by using the timing of the other spikes onscreen. This way, you have an idea of when the furthest spikes are retracted and can time your moves accordingly.
