Basic Gameplay Advice
Basic Rules & Levels
You are in control of a group of monsters that move simultaneously. Choose a pattern of movement that allows the monsters in the level to safely enter the portals they can access. Win the level by having all monsters safely exit the level. If any one of the monsters perishes, you automatically fail the level.
The game has 24 levels, which are unlocked sequentially. You can replay any of the levels you’ve previously beaten. Each time you fail a level, you can replay it as many times as you want.
Monster Movement
Although the monsters move at once based on your controls, how they respond to your controls varies.
- Green monsters follow all of your commands directly.
- Red monsters follow your jump commands, but move in the direction opposite of your horizontal ones.
- Purple monsters follow your horizontal commands but cannot jump.
- Yellow monsters follow all your commands but cannot stop until you move in the opposite direction.
- Blue monsters follow your commands but on the ceiling.
Monsters also move differently depending on where they are located. When two monsters are on top of another, the top monster moves faster than the lower monster.
You often need to use monsters in tandem in various levels. Check out the level-specific tips for more details.
Level Features
Levels have different portal types. The first one you encounter is the white portal, a permanently open portal that lets in an unlimited number of monsters. Red portals only allow one monster to come in at a time before disappearing. Blue portals must be activated by collecting all the blue squares in a level.
Green boxes appear from Level 11 onward. Your monsters bounce up and down whenever they stand above them.
Spikes and bottomless pits are a recurring hazard across all levels. If even one monster falls victim to them, they all die.
Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy
General Tips
Pay attention to the type of jump you need to clear the chasm. Some chasms require you to build speed before you jump. Other jumps demand that you move from the edge of the platform so the monster doesn’t hit anything above them.
Use the level’s layout to your advantage. At times, you may be required to get one or more of the monsters stuck to make moving another one easier.
Level-specific Tips
On Level 8, you must have 2 green monsters above one another on a side block. Have the pair jump up to where one bounces off the ceiling, then jump to the portal at the center.
On Level 9, bring the green monster to the top so the purple monster can ride it.
On Levels 10 and 11, you must have the green monster use the 3 purple monsters as ledges or stoppers to make rather large jumps.
On Level 17, you must use the two yellow monsters to grab the blue blocks needed to activate the level.
On Level 21, you must use a ceiling monster and floor monster jump on top of and land on each other. They will serve as each other’s temporary platforms to make the next jump.
On Level 22, you must have the purple monster move across the green one to get to the portal on the lower right.
