Sport Merge Game Review

Sport Merge Game Background

Sport Merge is a simple ball-merging game inspired by the original Suika Game. Release balls and other sports equipment onto the shaft and watch them float up. Merge identical pieces together to earn points and create pieces of greater value. Keep merging until you form the bullseye .

This game was published by EyeQStudio on August 29, 2024.

How to Play Sport Merge

To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the touchscreen with your fingers. Select Play near the bottom center of the welcome screen to begin.

To “drop” pieces onto the shaft, do the following:

  • If you’re playing on a desktop, move your mouse cursor to aim, then left click.
  • If you’re playing on a touchscreen device, tap, hold, and move your fingers around to aim, then release.

Unlike other Suika-inspired games, the pieces float up instead of float down. You aim from the bottom of the game screen.

Basic Gameplay Advice

Release sports items to have them float on top of the shaft. The pieces will move around for a bit after reaching the top before settling down. Pair identical pieces of equipment together to merge them into newer pieces of a larger value.

Unlike in many similar games, the items of greater value aren’t necessarily physically bigger than their predecessors. This can make it quite challenging to determine the sequence of the items in the game. When in doubt, refer to the gallery by opening the ball button on the top left corner.

The game has the following items:

  • Baseball
  • Medal
  • Tennis ball
  • Billiard 8 ball
  • Whistle
  • Shotput ball
  • Badminton shuttlecock
  • Beach volleyball
  • Basketball
  • Bowling ball
  • Soccer ball
  • Dumbbell
  • Table tennis paddle
  • Baseball glove
  • Water polo ball
  • Football helmet
  • Beach ball
  • Football
  • Dartboard target

The game automatically generates the first five pieces of equipment at random. The rest are formed from merging.

Keep floating and merging sports equipment for as long as you can. The game ends when you run out of space to float new items. That said, the game doesn’t have a game over screen and merely becomes unplayable.

You earn between 2 and 4 points from dropping items onto the screen and up to 16 points merging items.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

As with all merging games, the key to scoring high is to stay organized. Try to keep the items that merge into each other close by early into the game and keep lower-valued items from getting in between higher-valued ones.

One major challenge in this game is that higher valued pieces vary immensely in size, frequently being much smaller than their value suggests they’d be. Thus, the standby “make a stair step arrangement” strategy is far more challenging to do. Refer to the item gallery as often as you need to in order to keep everything orderly.

Wait until the pieces stop moving before dropping the next one. Dropping pieces too soon will increase the likelihood of the pieces going out of alignment.

Despite the presence of a timer, the game itself is untimed. The timer is merely there to keep track of how long you’ve been playing. Take all the time you need to carefully place and merge your pieces.

Educational Aspects

This game has planning elements and physics elements to it, like most games in the Suika Game category.
