Spin Soccer 3 Game Review
Spin Soccer 3 Game Background
Spin Soccer 3 fuses elements of soccer, pinball, and a physics puzzle.
The goal of the game is to spin the yellow platforms in order to get the ball into goal.
The game was published by Maximiliano Demonte’s QKY Game Studio.
How to Play Spin Soccer 3
Press the pink and white play button at the bottom center of the welcome screen to bring up the level select screen. Click on the first level ball to start playing.
Spin the yellow platforms clockwise by pressing the D key or the right arrow key.
Spin the yellow platforms counterclockwise by pressing the A key or the left arrow key.
Basic Gameplay Advice
You do not directly control the ball, but control its speed and momentum by adjusting the angle of yellow platforms that it is sitting on and yellow platforms which can hit it. When you move any platform all platforms move at the same time.
You only have one ball on each level and must get it into goal. If the ball is destroyed or flies off platform the level reloads from the beginning.
Some red spikes are permanently exposed while others cycle, retracting and reappearing at a regular interval. Ensure the ball avoids hitting spikes. If you want the ball to move quickly over an area with cycling spikes be sure to give the ball a lot of kinetic force by having it fall at a steep angle and then spinning the platform the opposite direction right as the ball nears the edge of it.
Some purple platforms spin and carry the ball across the screen. You should time your movements to ensure the ball lands in them heading the correct direction rather than missing them or landing on the wrong side of them.
If the ball gets stuck you can tap the level restart button in the upper right corner to reload the current stage.
Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy
Sometimes it is helpful to view the platforms as a ramp, and sometimes it is helpful to think of them as something more akin to a baseball bat.
If you can not get the ball to go quick enough or far enough sometimes you have to move the platform in the opposite direction to get the ball near the opposite end of it, so that it can get a rolling start and have more momentum when it releases from the platform. Spin the platform in the opposite direction right as the ball is flying off to give it a bit more kinetic force.
Some stages have multiple retracting spike sets which are in sync with each other though are located in different areas. You can rotate platforms catching and redirecting the ball back and forth slightly to hold the ball until your timing is correct for making it past the next spike set.
Some spikes which are in your way do not retract and instead require you to give the ball a bit of loft to get over them.
Educational Aspects
This is a simple ball rolling physics puzzle game. Soccer fans may enjoy this game without necessarily realizing they are learning about potential energy, kinetic energy, momentum and other forces.
Player Age Recommendations
The early stages of this game are quite easy for all ages. Later levels (other than the final stage) can probably be completed by most kids above third grade. The final stage does require a bit of skill to beat, as you sort of have to walk the ball up a series of 4 yellow platforms.
