How to Play Snake 3000

To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the touchscreen with your fingers. Select the green Go button at the center of the welcome screen to open the level selection screen. Select an unlocked level to begin.

On your desktop, use the arrow keys on your keyboard to move.

• Press the up arrow key to move up.
• Press the left arrow key to move left.
• Press the right arrow key to move right.
• Press the down arrow key to move down.

On a touchscreen device, tap on the directional pad located on the bottom center of the game screen to move.

Basic Gameplay Advice

You play as a hungry snake and automatically move forward; use the controls onscreen or on your keyboard to change direction. Your goal in each level is to collect 50 neon dots of any color other than red. Keep track of the dots you collected on the top left corner of the game screen.

You begin each level with 6 hit points, represented by hearts on the top center of the game screen. Each time you collect a red dot or your own tail, you lose a hit points. Go offscreen or lose all your hit points, and you fail the level.

Red dots act as barriers. Each time you hit a red dot, it disappears.

Your movement is slow at the start of the game. As you consume dots, you begin moving faster and faster. You also grow longer, putting you at the greater risk of hitting your own tail.

There are 4 kinds of edible dots in this game:

• Pink dots are usually stationary, though in some cases they may move. Consuming one pink dot usually spawns another elsewhere.
• Green dots fall down from the top of the screen. They may resemble competing small snakes, but can be consumed like any other dots.
• Yellow dots move around yellow plus signs in cycles. After one move cycle, they become stationary. These respawn a limited number of times after you consume them.
• Blue dots only appear once per level. You must consume them without touching any of the lines running off them. The lines, much like red dots, act as barriers.

Some levels have a big pink button that you must repeatedly press. These buttons will spawn pink and red dots. Collect the pink dots and knock on the button again to keep generating them.

The game has 32 levels, which are unlocked sequentially. You can replay any of the levels you’ve previously beaten. Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

As a rule, collect the dots that are easier to teach. These are often pink dots that form close to the ones you’ve already collected. In most cases, it’s less risky to collect the ones near you. Save collecting most green dots for when you’re faster. You can also opportunistically chase after green dots if you move close to where they’re about to fall.

In levels where the blue dots are present, consider collecting them first. Once collected, they will open up the level’s playing area considerably.

In levels with yellow and red dots, avoid chasing the yellow dots around. This will put you at the risk of hitting red dots. Go after them when they eventually move to less risky locations. Focus on nearby yellow dots as it’s easier to chase them down.
