Save The Watermelon Game Review
Save The Watermelon Game Background
Save The Watermelon is a simple barrier-drawing game. Draw a barrier sufficient enough to protect the watermelon from the onslaught of angry bees moving toward it.
How to Play Save The Watermelon
To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the touchscreen with your fingers. The game is automatically playable once it loads.
Use your mouse or fingers to draw a barrier. You can only draw in spaces that aren’t marked by red horizontal lines. You can only draw one continuous line before the bees leave the nest. A line cannot intersect objects.
Basic Gameplay Advice
Each level consists of a hive, at least one watermelon, and various features (water, platforms, etc.). Your task is to find a way to protect the watermelons from the swarm of bees that fly out of the hive. The structure you draw must deter the bees for the entire duration of a countdown. If the watermelons remain safe until the timer expires, you beat the level. However, if they fall into the water or get stung by bees, you fail and must replay the level.
Your available line length is limited. Make sure to draw only what you need to protect the watermelons.
The game has 30 levels, which are unlocked sequentially. You can access the level selection screen by selecting the hamburger button on the top left corner of the welcome screen. Your web browser automatically saves your level progress.
Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy
The watermelons are subject to gravity. Should they appear without a platform, you must draw the barrier not only to protect them but also keep them in place.
Take the layout of the level into account when planning your barriers. What parts can’t you draw around? What parts can you use to boost your barrier? Often, you can solve many of your problems by using the environment as an extension or anchor to the barrier.
Sometimes, you don’t need to envelop the the watermelons to protect them. You just need to keep the bees at bay long enough. Fortunately, the bees tend to blunder around the level. A sufficiently lengthy barrier should be enough to keep them at bay.
