How to Play Rogue Raider

Press the gray and blue play button in the lower center of the welcome screen to bring up the level select screen. Left click on a level number to start the stage.

Left click or press the spacebar to send your pirate running. After your pirate runs he will keep running until he runs into something, then switch directions.

Left click or hit the spacebar to jump, and left click (or hit the spacebar) twice to double jump.

If you get stuck you can press the R key or the reset button in the upper right corner to reload the current level.

Basic Gameplay Advice

Jump over spikes. Avoid running into sailors or whales unless you jump on them to stomp them.

You can jump back and forth off the walls in order to climb up high. On some stages you have to make major wall climbs to make it to the exit.

This game features 10 stages which are unlocked sequentially. Safely make it to the black flag at the end of each stage in order to advance to the next level.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

This is a rhythm game which both requires a lot of patience and will lead to many deaths as you learn the best ways through the courses. On some stages you have to go backward and go back and forth to have the clearance needed to make certain jumps, land in time, and make subsequent jumps.

The spikes and platforms will remain in the same locations each time you play a level, though the sailors and whales can be in alternative positions on a particular platform on each playthrough.

In some cases it can makes sense to intentionally go back and realign the timing if enemies are in positions which make jump timing hard or nearly impossible.

This game is quite challenging and helps people improve pattern recognition and patience.
