Pixobot Game Background

Pixobot is a 16-bit 2D platformer game where you control a flying robot which must refuel to keep flying.

How to Play Pixobot

Tap on the yellow button on the welcome screen to bring up the level select screen, then select a stage to start it.

Move the robot around the stages using the WASD keys or the arrow keys.

Players can fly by pressing the W key, the up arrow key or the spacebar.

Basic Gameplay Advice

Press up to fly, the either periodically tap to keep flying for an extended period of time while slowly descending, or tap and hold to keep flying as high as possible. Your fuel meter is shown in the upper left, and your fuel refills each time you land.

You have to avoid running into spikes or green poison pools while making your way safely to the pink gem to advance.

The game features 10 stages which are unlocked sequentially. As you progress through the game stages become more complex.

• Some stages have green fuel boxes in midair which restore your fuel when you run into them.
• Some levels require you to collect a key to unlock a gate to be able to access the pink gem.
• Some stages have floating boxes which you can stand on as temporary platforms. You can push these boxes from the side while flying to move them around and enable you to make other jumps.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

Repeatedly tapping the jump button rather than holding it in is a much more efficient use of fuel in this game.

When making jumps on stages like 5 sometimes you want to jump where there are no spikes above you and then start moving horizontally following the ceiling down, with just a small gap to ensure you do not hit your head on the spikes. Alternatively, if you feel there is not enough clearance to start the jump without hitting your head, on some stages you can find a nearby lower platform to start the jump from.

When pushing the movable boxes on stage 7 take your time and make the pushes across multiple jumps where you save enough fuel to safely land, rather than trying to push far all at once and landing on one of the red spikes.
