Nuwpy’s Adventure is a retro-themed horizontal side-scrolling platform game in the mold of classics like Super Mario. Help Nuwpy make his way around the world and pick up coins along the way. Watch out for the various foes that prowl each level.

How to Play Nuwpy’s Adventure

To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the touchscreen with your fingers. On the loading screen, select which device you are using to play the game. Once the welcome screen appears, select Play to get started or How to Play to open the game’s tutorial screen. Select Reset Data at the bottom center of the welcome screen to clear your previous game progress.

On a desktop, use your keyboard to move. Press the A and D or left and right arrow keys to move horizontally. Press the W or up arrow key to jump; hold these keys down to double jump.

On a touchscreen device, tap on the virtual joystick and drag to the left or right to move horizontally. Tap on the virtual joystick to jump; tap and hold to double jump.

Basic Gameplay Advice

Basic Rules

As Nuwpy, move through the level and make your way to the end. Avoid the roaming enemies, spikes, and pit to avoid death. Each time you die, the screen goes black and you must restart the level from the beginning or from a check points. Reach and walk past check points to save your level progress. These resemble flags and serve as your respawn point each time you die. B

The game’s 20 levels are unlocked sequentially. Finish one level and you automatically load up the next. Your web browser automatically saves your level progress; each time you reload the game, you automatically begin at the latest level you’ve unlocked.

Level Features

You can move across platforms and barriers by jumping or double jumping. Do note, however, that some platforms are too high up to reach from where you first encounter them. Often, this means you must move further into the level and look for an easier-to-reach platform that you can take to visit that level.

Falling into chasms is an instant game over. Avoid dying by jumping over them whenever you can. Some chasms are crossed by rickety bridges. Walk past them as quickly as you can before they fall apart. Once they’re gone, the chasm they leave behind may be too wide to easily cross.

Enemies patrol various parts of the level. You will instantly die if you touch them. Stomping is your chief offensive means of dealing with enemies, though not every enemy can be defeated this way.

Scoring

The coins you collect add to your total score. You can keep track of the coins you’ve picked up on the top center of the screen. You can only view your final score once you’ve finished a level. Meanwhile, the game also shows your present high score on the welcome screen.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

Due to the way the levels are arranged, a bit of backtracking is to be expected in this game. You must often look for platforms you can climb on further down to attempt reaching higher up platforms earlier in the level, then move your way back again.

Enemies can be very tricky to stomp if you can stomp them at all. It’s often easier to simply avoid enemies than to go out of your way to take them out.
