MiscGames published this game on September 9, 2022.
How to Play Math Duck
Move the duck around the stages using either the WASD keys or the arrow keys.
Basic Gameplay Advice
Incomplete mathematical formulas are shown in the upper left corner of the screen. Your job is to move the duck around the stage to grab the associated number tiles needed to complete the formulas.
Once all formulas have been completed a key appears somewhere on the stage. You have a total of 10 seconds to solve the formulas, grab the key, and exit through the open door. As soon as you complete the formulas all other number tiles disappear. If you need to fill in multiple number tiles you start in the top left and work your way across then down.
Avoid running into fixed or moving spikes, getting hit by red falling spikes, grabbing the wrong number tile, or running out of time. If you do any of the four you lose the stage and must play it again. Moving spikes periodically stop and then restart again.
When you get to level 15 some stages have a blue button on them. Jump on the blue button to move the bottom formula to the top row and push all other formulas down a row. You can jump on the blue button repeatedly to shuffle the formulas more than once.
On level 17 there is a small clock which you can grab to create a push button that when stomped adds more time on the game timer. This game has a total of 18 stages.
Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy
The level timer does not start until after you make your first move, so you can plan your route in advance of moving.
If you are on a stage with a blue button to shuffle the formulas be sure to look at the number tile placements to plan your route and see how many times you need to hit the blue button.
You can sometimes stand in between the edges of red falling spikes to trigger them to fall while still being safe. If you do not need to stop or jump then your best bet is to keep running past them until you are safely on the other side.
Educational Aspects
This game is a fun way to practice basic arithmetic problem solving. Anybody who knows addition and subtraction should enjoy this game.
Player Age Recommendations
The cuteness of this game makes it fun for all ages. The last couple stages will be hard for young children, but with enough practice most school aged kids should be able to beat the game.
